  • Qatar World Cup apps are privacy nightmares, says EU

If this is true then why are these apps even on the App Store How do they pass Apple’s scrutiny?

  • New Apple TV 4K gets fix for storage space bug

Are AppleTV apps allowed to download videos, movies and TV shows filling up large portions of the storage to keep the shows from stuttering, losing resolution and sound? I'm sure Apple's products are programmed to get a jump on videos to allow them to be viewed properly. Philo seems to have problems with Hallmark movies, even DVR'd ones. Is is possible for other AppleTV apps to be programmed to start downloading videos before they start showing them to have a buffer to keep them going?
No, the storage is for apps and their data only. No content is downloaded and stored.

  • High-profile resignations put Twitter at risk of giant FTC fines

Oh, and you haters think Musk is so stupid he doesn’t know about this, that he became the world’s richest man by being a dolt that doesn’t understand regulation and consent decrees? Really?

"Twitter users and staff can expect more changes in the future as the new CEO remakes the company in his image, if they haven't already fled to greener pastures.”

And what greener pastures would those be with tech companies either laying off thousands or
freezing hiring, hmmmm? Meta? Oops, nope.

  • Meta's 11,000 job cuts may be only the beginning

Maybe people are finally waking up to the dangers of social media. CBS Sixty Minutes aired a segment about the differences between the TikTok app in China and the West. In China children under a certain age are shown videos of science, culture, history, art, etc. Adults are given more freedom but have limits on politics, social issues, etc. In the West, of course, it’s no holds barred. A survey was conducted of young people who were asked what they wanted to be, In China the number one response was astronaut. In the U.S. the number one response was social media influencer. The expert in the segment said the viewer could imagine what the future holds for the next two generations.

Facebook, I hope, is just the tip of the iceberg for social media. Hopefully Twitter, TikTok, Instagram and all the rest are soon to follow.

  • Twitter lays off staff including whole ethics team, temporarily closes offices

Don’t agree with Elon on everything but This is good.

my Twitter account was banned by this so called ethics team for posting article suggesting natural immunity from Covid infection maybe more powerful than these 500 shots and boosters ….

article was done  by a Stanford doctor who happens to disagree with the current government! And they ban me?

have not gone back to Twitter since and now it does seem like people who had natural immunity from Covid are not getting as many second infections as people who are boosting every time …

    I digress..
Well, that’s the thing about science and scientific peer review. One doctor’s opinion is not enough unless his peers review his work and agree. And Twitter was right in banning you for spreading disinformation about the virus. And now you are continuing to spread more disinformation about so-called natural immunity. You can cite as many unscientific studies and anecdotal reports as you want but it doesn’t change the science. All it does is place the people who listen to it at more risk.
