  • Apple urges lawmakers to reject bill that would force it to allow side-loading

Only the malcontents that infest tech blogs like AppleInsider would side-load, and they would deserve whatever they get. This is purely a case of the tail trying to wag the dog, a bunch of losers who want to force Apple to do something it doesn’t want to do when they could easily move to Android and side-load away to their heart's content as well as tweet settings till the cows come home. But no, they insist Apple be forced to be just like Android and hide behind the ‘choice’ false flag.

2022, why new Mac mini need USB-A port for? I rather it has all USB-C ports instead.
If I need USB-A port then I will use hub.
For the same reason some still want a parallel and SCSI ports. /s

Hopefully they keep the internal power supply.  An external brick is a step backward.

Also, how do you open this one?  Back to the putty knife?  Annoying.  (And yes, I will be opening whatever Apple releases, it's part of what I do.)
Why? An internal power supply takes up space and by far generates the most heat of any component. External power supply means additional hardware can be added. I respectfully disagree with your take on this.

As for opening it up, that’s a non-issue. With the advent of the M1 SOC you can’t add RAM, you can’t install a bigger SSD, it’s all on the M1,so why would you need to open it up? You do know that RAM and Storage are fixed and not upgradeable, period, right?

  • Crime blotter: Teen arrested over $42,000 Australian Apple Store thefts

Police policies differ. I have a friend whose iPhone was stolen in  burglary. He tracked it to an apartment building in the ‘bad’ section of town, called the police to recover it but was rebuffed by them. They had no intention of pursuing the thief.

On the Apple Discussion Forums there are numerous daily posts from people asking how to get around Activation Lock. The sob stories often sound suspicious because they always claim they don’t remember their Apple ID or their Password, and don’t have a receipt for the purchase.

The Tragedy of Macbeth was astoundingly good. Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand were superb. Shakespeare done right.
