WhatsApp won't limit accounts that don't accept new privacy policy
These assholes are caught between a rock and a hard place. For all their protestations about consumers being harmed by Apple’s privacy policies the consumers are flipping them the bird. Following Apple’s requirements means less advertising revenue. Threatening their customers with fees or restrictions is blowing up on their faces, showing the world their abject disdain for the source of their wealth... their customers.
Whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do when they come for you? Bad boys, bad boys. -
Powerbeats2 owners begin to receive payments from $9.75M settlement
fred1 said:I remember when people would just return a defective product for repair, a refund, or replacement. Now they start class action suits?
With the money they’re getting do they get a replacement, or just a refund?
Oh, and by the way, I’m still waiting for my $25 for battery-gate on my long gone iPhone 6. -

AT&T's WarnerMedia merging with Discovery in $43B deal to form new streaming service
As a former AT&T employee I can tell you that there was much disgust and distrust for the former CEO, Randall (don’t you call me Randy) Stephenson. This is the guy that fucked up the attempted acquisition of T-Mobile 2011. He got a slap on the wrist and a temporary reduction of salary from the board. He’s also the one who did the deal to buy Time Warner media in 2016 for $85 billion (completed in 2018), which many analysts thought was a bad idea. Now the new CEO, John Stankey, is spinning off Warner Media after just three years.
But Randall is living it up with his retirement package and golden parachute. Go figure. -
UK repair firm fined $147,000 for selling counterfeit Apple chargers
So this outfit claims it didn’t know the accessories were counterfeit? I can probably tell you exactly what happened. They were offered a ‘deal’ on these chargers at a substantial discount, much cheaper than buying them from Apple’s legitimate supplier and they conveniently didn't bother to check things out. The judge got it wrong in my opinion. The company is guilty of intentional fraud.
Remember this article the next time Apple gets sued for an exploding iPhone. I’m guessing something like this is just the tip of the iceberg and that counterfeit Apple accessories are being sold all over the world.
For many years now I only buy Apple devices and Apple accessories directly from Apple, either online or in store. I would never, EVER buy Apple products from Amazon, best Buy, or any other so-called authorized dealer. There’s just too much risk of fraud and I don’t care one bit how much cheaper it is from Amazon or elsewhere.
