Just to clarify, iFixit doesn’t repair anything. They are not a repair shop and they don't sell parts. iFixit sells tool kits for repairing things. They have a vested financial interest in seeing RtR instituted because they want to be the major supplier of tools to third party shops. Always follow the money.

No it's convenient how you don't bother reading the source for the story linked in the AI article to see why, yet want to imply AI is hiding something.
Try this for an idea: Read it and you'll figure out for yourself why Chrome and Firefox weren't mentioned. 

Because they weren’t involved. Firefox and Microsoft Edge up next on day two. Day three is for automotive software. No mention of Chrome, I guess because it’s so trivial to pwn because of its spyware base code.

Some are assuming this means the Netflix app will go away. I think not. You can subscribe to Netflix through the Amazon Prime app and I think that’s what Netflix is talking about. It will not be available through the Apple TV app but Netflix’s own app will remain on the tvOS platform.

Get ready for shitty third party parts installed by shitty, untrained techs in shopping mall kiosks. Instead of ordering a part from Apple many users will opt for questionable but cheaper third party parts. Do it yourselfers will blow up their devices and then expect Apple to make it good... at no charge. Instead of ordering that brake caliper directly from Ford you’ll order one for half the price and of dubious quality from Amazon. Then when you kill yourself in an accident your family will sue Ford. You get what you pay for. There is NO Apple tax for quality. What’s next? Court ordered modifications such as user replaceable batteries, headphone jacks. Regulated design thickness to accommodate repairability. Imagine what an iPhone designed by iFixit will look like.

There goes privacy and security when that part you bought is later found to be reporting your every move and word to god knows who or where. Oh, you say, legit repair shops will only install Apple OEM parts in your $1K phone. Think again.

The rage against Capitalism has been going on for decades now in education, revisionist history, and media propaganda. Young people are attracted to the siren call of Socialism because it promises them the moon. No more student loans to pay off, free healthcare, free college, guaranteed employment, the list goes on. Who wouldn’t be supportive of stuff like that until you sit down and think how it would be implemented? Warren wants the government to have absolute, total control over the economy, the society, the way we think. And the thing about that kind of mentality is that, once entrenched, there is no tolerance for dissent. We’ve seen what happens over and over again in history when governments control everything.
