  • A year with Apple's 5K iMac: Still the best Mac for your money

I am still praying for a new Mac Mini.
Mr Tim & Jony ,please grant our wish for a new Mac Mini with a SSD option.
If anything the Mac Mini should be discontinued. It has never been very Apple like in design. It’s downright ugly. It was brought out because of all the whining about a cheaper headless Mac from the few who don’t like all-in-ones. The Mini has never sold very well because its market is limited to a tiny minority of Mac users. That kind of market is best left to the cheap PCs you can buy at Walmart for $400. I hope Apple kills this abomination once and for all.

  • Group FaceTime is only the latest of many Apple technologies to be delayed

No one is arguing Apple should release buggy software or hardware. But in the case of AirPower, why announce the product when it clearly was nowhere near ready to ship? When other companies do this people don’t pat them on the back for taking the time to get it right, they call it vaporware.
One rule of manufacturing, sales and marketing often write checks that engineering can’t cash. Jobs would kite those checks or let them bounce if he had to to get the damn thing out the door and fix it later. Just because it upsets the freaks that want everything yesterday.

  • Australian teen hacked Apple's corporate network, accessed data and user accounts

    greg uvan said:
Time to hire him! Smart people need to be channeled into good ends, not put in prison. Hire him and keep him occupied by hacking into Russia or doing other state espionage.
That’s probably exactly what will happen if he comes completely clean on how he did it. It all depends on his personality and whether he can reform himself. Some can, others can’t. Take Kevin Mitnick for example, now running his own security consulting company.

  • Turkey's president calls for boycott of Apple products

Oh well. Turkey is a disaster waiting to happen, and lets not forget the economic boom the US is currently having eh.
That “disaster waiting to happen” will be Turkey running into the arms of Vladimir Putin. Erdogan is all but a dictator now and if he pulls Turkey out of NATO we will be in a world of hurt as Turkey is crucial to our ability to retain what little influence we have these days in the Middle East.

But regarding Apple they became a symbol of American power and influence in the world when they reached that $1 Trillion mark. The world’s most valuable company has a giant target on its back now and will be used as a political bargaining chip whenever it suits the situation. Turkey, China, India are not stupid when it comes to using economic threats to remind the U.S. of its limitations. And Apple is a sitting duck right now.

  • Apple's Cook calls $1 trillion value 'milestone,' says result of corporate values

The hate and rage is in full bloom across the Internet this morning. Every time Apple succeeds at something some people’s heads explode. But what happened yesterday has drawn and quartered them like the last scene in Braveheart. People have come unglued with spittle and venom drooling down their chins. It’s like a horror movie when the slasher surprises his victims. I have been visiting news sites, tech blogs, financial sites just to see what’s going on and it’s pretty surreal. I new there was hate and bile out there for Apple but this milestone has really laid it bare. There’s a 65 and growing post thread diatribe going on at C|net that is really amazing.
