  • Watch: Apple's 2016 MacBook vs. 2015 13" MacBook Air in head-to-head comparison

I think the MacBook is a beautiful machin and will indeed replace the Air in a few generations. Apple may appease those who wish for multiple ports and TB3 on the next redesign which will probably be a year or two out.  I agree with the poster who said that this is going to be the future of Apple's notebook designs and wouldn't be surprised if the new MBPs took design cues from this machine.

  • iPhone sales surge 56% in India as Apple eats into Samsung's high-end share

Wait just one damn minute. Every tech blog and analyst on the planet says Apple will fail in India because Indians won’t buy high end phones. But then they said that about China too. So which is it?
As usual, Tim and co. know what they are doing.

  • Microsoft begins warning users it will cut free OneDrive storage to 5GB, matching Apple's iCloud

Backups to iCloud should be free and backup any iOS device you own. There would be small few rules for app devs and Mac photographers to stop them abusing the free backups.

Why you ask? Aren't you being greedy here? No. I think regardless of the costs involved for Apple—and in the grand scheme of things the costs compared to Apple's wealth would be minor—the benefits to such a system would be amazing for Apple device users and for Apple.

For Apple, the benefits here are because users no longer need to think about backups as a problem and everyone has everything backed up, Apple gets a certain ecosystem lock-in that few other companies can get.

For users they never have to worry about losing important data ever again.

Both parties benefit in extraordinary ways.

And they could have a single paid plan of 5 TB for €14.99 per month for photographers and pros that includes iCloud backup for Macs too.

Storage is cheap enough if you need it.  I would always welcome more free storage, but enough storage to equal all iOS devices in use is not realistic.

  • Apple begins offering half-price $4.99 Apple Music subscriptions for students

This should be the price for everyone.

Its nuts that music streaming is charging $10 for A SINGLE USER while Neflix offers movies for THREE DEVICES for $8. That is ridiculous.

In order to get real penetration the standard price should be $5 for individual and $8 for family plan.
While I would welcome cheaper prices, I don't think $10-$15 bucks a month for the catalog of music you have to choose from is a bad deal.  I can't count how much money I spent on records, tapes and CDs growing up, having to buy entire albums to get the few songs I wanted to listen to.  Them having to record the albums and CDs on to mix tapes to play in the car.  I have most of the music I like, and usually go to YouTube to listen to stuff I may want to buy later, but for all you get for only $10, streaming is a great deal regardless if it is Apple Music or Spotify.

  • 'Intentional' culture clash between Apple, Beats causes friction, aims to 'create something groundb

Let's all be honest here. In Apple's mind it does nothing wrong. Everything is intentional. I am sure they put a positive spin on the suicide last week as well. In John Ive voice: "That was not a suicide, it was like a caterpillar spinning a cocoon and transforming into a beautiful butterfly". I really don't like the above all tone of this company at the moment.
There is nothing wrong with Apple. The same politics happen at every large corporation in the world, it just gets magnified due to Apple's popularity. How many other CEOs and design heads do you know by name?  There is always room for improvements but Apple is doing just fine. Their profits and customer satisfaction rates are proof of that.  This is no big deal.
