Wedding banned - Apple Watches not welcome at fashionista's ceremony
As the article alludes, I guess that if a guest has a medical condition, such as diabetes, and uses the Apple Watch as a monitor using one of the devices for such purpose, they're just SOL, huh? Were I such a person (fortunately, I am not), the couple would have to make a choice, either I wear my watch, or I don't attend. I'd be fine not attending the wedding of someone who put their "vision" ahead of my health.I am also fortunate that I don't know any people who would actually do this. -
Congress asking Apple and other big tech what they're doing about deepfakes

Crime blotter: MacBooks stolen from Glendale Apple Stores, UPS robberies, and porch pirate...

How did they know that there were MacBooks pre-paid and ready to pick up from the Apple store, with I assume some kind of fake ID? Further, shouldn't the real customer be entitled to get their MacBooks anyhow, since it was the Apple store employees who made the error?;
How did the sidewalk thieves know that there was going to be a delivery of Apple devices to a specific address on a specific day and have fake IDs ready?
In both cases there seems to be some inside hinky going on.
Either insiders, or some level of hacking of either Apple's system or the delivery service, or some combination thereof.

At least these two have been charged, and not just "allowed to resign". And civil rights violations are generally not covered by qualified immunity, so hopefully they'll actually suffer for their crimes, instead of just being hired by another department somewhere.
