  • Apple's 8 years of iPad: a revolution in iOS computing

For me the iPad has evolved to be the one indispensable computing device at home and for travel.
The Mac remains my one go to device at work.

The one place where I think iPad can improve in becoming the only computing device most people will ever need is in evolving its Files app. I do believe that Apple will allow it more freedom eventually especially on the iPad.

As far as the MS Surface is concerned I respectfully disagree with Tim Cook’s Refrigerator-Toaster remark. I think a more accurate parallel would be toaster-oven. It can definitely toast your bread and maybe even cook small dinner plates. But don’t ever expect it to cook your Thanksgiving turkey.

Tell all that to Brian Tong at CNET. Man that dude is an Apple hater disguised as a self proclaimed fan. His shtick is saying he loved the Apple of the past and everything today is dog shit, while praising and loving all things google and Alexa and amazon. Hahah he’s entertaining but not very well versed in tech. Not like the guys on the Apple Insider podcast, for example.
I’ve long ago abandoned sites like CNet and ZDNet (even worse IMO). Brian Tong offers entertainment. Nothing more.

The numbers would be different if Apple would still sign iOS 10.
No kidding.  I hate 11.  Apple annoys you into upgrading.  I finally turned it off on my iPhone 7plus and stayed at 10 - yeah no throttling for me.
What do you do with your 7+ that it already gets throttled?
I have a 7 and have been using the hell out of it for a little over a year now, both work and play. Even with iOS 11 and its smaller battery haven’t once experienced any shutdowns or slowdowns.

What many of you are forgetting is that the iPhone X is the first time they ever manufactured devices with OLED screens.
If production of this type of screen still has issues then it may be reasonable to put all efforts in the new flagship models while continuing to offer the iPhone classic (7,8...) with LCD technology.
