Apple investors shrug off Samsung Galaxy S8 event, send stock upward

Android is indeed from Greek. Combination of two words
andras = man (or human if you like)
idos = a type of or similar to
A good synonym for android is humanoid.

Google's Chromebook Pixel ends up another F for Alphabet
AppleInsider said:
Today, however, Lardinois writes that Google "never intended to sell in high numbers" and that "Pixel was always meant to be aspirational," describing it as "the first hardware device that showed that Google could build vertically integrated devices that could compete with the likes of Apple," even though Pixel make it clear that Google could not, in fact, compete with Apple.
Maybe they're employing the same strategy with their Pixel phone. Never meant to sell in high numbers.
Wonder how Vlad Savov and other Verge writers explain this? -
Apple's new iPad Pro ad says users can avoid printing in public
k2kw said:Sometimes you have to actually Print something and mail the paper. What am I supposed to do? Mail my iPad instead. Dumb commercial.
Went to buy a Printer for my dad's house where he has Wifi and an old modem. Discovered that to setup the Printer I needed a laptop too. Maybe apple should work more on actually printing from the iPad. (Yes the printer said AirPlay supported ). I guess next trip I'll Bring my windows laptop. (or maybe I should just get a Surface Pro4)
Your lack of research is Apple's fault? -
Editorial: The future of Steve Jobs' iPad vision for Post-PC computing, part 2
brucemc said:
It isn't for me either (at least right now) as it pertains to my work. I have an iPad and use it all the time at home, on the road, and on vacation - but not yet for work much - but with some HWR and a few other features, it might become a solid device for work too. The difference is that I can see beyond my own personal situation into how smartphones are changing the nature of computing, how new workflows are developing, how the young are working with this technology, and how PC's might have been the only tool in the past for some occupations but tablets are now a better option.
For work you may need to haul 1000 lbs of dirt up a steep hill. For home you don't need to. For the former you need a Ford F-150 for the latter a Toyota Prius would do just fine.
This is the concept that the "It can't do real work" crowd can't wrap their heads around.
