How to fix weak Wi-Fi on a M4 Mac mini when connected to a drive or dock
Mike W., that's some solid detective work there! One final step you might take is to wrap the USB-C to USB-A adapter (and the gap you noted) with a layer or two of aluminum foil and then re-check the attenuation. If it works, as I suspect it may, then this would also provide a simple and inexpensive solution for those having a bunch of similar adapters, even if cosmetically sad. I'm not having the wifi-attenuation issue myself, so I can't check it. -

Apple execs address Mac mini's hidden power button in 2024 redesign
A6A said:Power Button Mini ..simple solution. Cut a 1/2 " piece of plywood in a circle to match to bottom of the Mac Mini, paint it black, and problem solved. It raises the Mini enough to allow access for your finger.- Coaster from the decorative set you were gifted 15 Christmases ago;
- Inverted saucer from the ugly dish-set grandma gave you when you went off to college;
- Bible you were given as a child and never read;
- Random bathroom tile you've kept since that renovation;
- Old cassette tape jewel-box saved from the landfill;
- Metal screw-top lid from an old pickle jar heretofore used to collect interesting pennies;
- That "emergency pack" of cigarettes lingering in your junk drawer since you kicked the habit 20 yr ago.
I'm sure you can think of more. :-)

M4 24-inch iMac vs M3 24-inch iMac compared -- Apple's iconic Mac gets a speed boost
Earlier today I wrote:
...But yeah, as an M3 owner, what I mainly want to know is the real-world speed boost. Alas, that is the one differentiator that is mainly missing from the comparison (benchmark speed ratings). 5% faster? 50% faster? 5X faster?....
Aha! My answers are essentially found in another article published later in the day, for which I am grateful:
