  • Apple's $699 iPhone 11 is an iPhone XR successor with two rear cameras

So does this pricing include Trump’s Tariff or is that Tacked on like a Tax???! If this includes the Tariff this Price cut is impressive and Apple is to be commended ALOT.

Any info if the regular 11 is 4x4 mimo this year? I’m assuming it’s using the Intel 7660 XMM like the Pro is but hoping they don’t gimp the speed by only using 2x2 mimo like on the Xr.
2 x 2.  They cut the price.   What do you expect?   A phone that’s good as a phone.   I guess it will be next year till we can get a QualComm phone.

  • New iPhone might not feature two-way wireless charging, will include 18W USB adapter, more...

I don’t really understand why you’d want your phone to charge another device - my battery barely lasts for a day of use. It would only drain my phone’s battery faster.
Seems a gimmick more than anything else.
Now, if they’d considerably up the battery’s capabilities, then I’d understand.

I currently have an iPhone X which I think is good enough. A much better camera is a reason to upgrade for me, as well as gifting my phone to my wife who has an aging 6S.
I don’t think I’ll really notice 5G anyway, until the infrastructure leverages this speed and my mobile provider compensated by offering much more data for the same amount of money.

Time-of-flight sensor seems incredibly useful though; for video auto-focus with a larger sensor, for augmented reality purposes and mapping a 3D scene, which I bet will Apple use with some sort of “3D photo” format you can share with friends.

I think the ability to charge the watch is real useful.    If you are just going on a one night business trip you only need to bring your phone charger if your phone could recharge your watch.  Of course for a longer trip I would probably bring both chargers.   I would really be impressed if they switched to solid state batteries to increase their time between charges.

  • Apple says Face ID is coming to more devices, but Touch ID continues

Darn need to wait one more year for TouchId to come back.   Seems like this wouldn’t be too difficult as several Android manufacturers have already done it.

How can anyone with half a brain take these ridiculous articles seriously? Always putting other companies down to make Apple look good. Really insecure in his support for Apple.
Writing industry analysis isn't "putting down" other companies. It's fact -- competitors and critics often claim the way to do something is X, and then Apple does Y, proving them wrong. There is opportunity to point out their mistakes in betting against Apple, as DED and the Macalope have proven time and again.

What's truly insecure -- coming to an Apple site, reading an Apple opinion columnist with a known beat, and then whining about it. Are you lost, bro?
Haha. Not lost bro. This isn't analysis. It's cheer-leading for Apple while Sh!77ing on everyone else. Something you're very familiar with. To pretend that Apple is the only company that can design and build great products is pretty shallow thinking in my opinion. This is the basis of all of DEDs editorials.
Yep and he now says biggest in revenue and profit must mean it’s the best product such as when he keeps comparing HomePod to Sonos.   It’s a very Trump way of thinking.     I would be impressed if they could just get the remote and Siri to work great on the ATV.   Too many things are still too frustrating with Siri.   Stop wasting resources on this AR/VR crap.
