  • Everything on Apple TV+ for Christmas

Most programs that I watch in the Apple TV+ app have black bars at the top and bottom of the screen when I view them in full screen mode. Is there some reason Apple's software can't accommodate that situation by placing the captions in the black area instead of over the image area?

  • PayPal prepared to spend $45 billion to acquire Pinterest

Occasionally a Google web search sends me to a Pinterest page, and the moment it appears, I always immediately back out of it. That's because Pinterest's interface reminds me of 1990's malware. And it demands an email address before it lets me scroll down the page. However I notice that macOS Monterey's iCloud+ new "Hide My Email" feature says it will work with Pinterest. So I just tried it. And Pinterest's website let me create the account but it never sent me a confirmation email, so I still can't use their site, even with iCloud+. I presume either Pinterest rejects all iCloud email addresses or they have some sort of filter that allows them to detect whether I'm using one of iCloud+'s temporary email addresses.

HDMI should have never been put there.
Everyone I know uses one when connecting to a tv for a presentation. All the pros are happy about this. In fact, show me one legitimate pro who says Apple should never have a HDMI and or SD card.
Funny enough, I'd argue against having the SD card slot.  Perhaps it's common for pro photography, but I personally prefer using USB drives (as do most people I know) since they tend to be more durable.  Not to mention that a lot of cameras can be hooked up via USB.

Funnily enough, the correct words there are "funnily enough."

  • New MacBook Pro preorders immediately see shipping date slips

On another thread, about a day ago, I predicted that any notch for a Mac would stay within the Menu Bar. I was right, but they had to increase the height of the Menu Bar to make that idea work. I may have to rewrite some code which has the pixel height of the Menu Bar hardcoded.

  • Apple wants to expand CarPlay to control more features of your car

But Apple would need the cooperation of the auto manufacturers to do this, right?
In fact  has been trying for years and years to get deeper integration with car mgt. and navigation - to no avail.
Car manufacturerers are doing their utmost to keep them out of the driving seat and offer their own, more sophisticted and integrated solutions
I agree with you that car manufacturers have been trying to keep Apple out of their cars, which is exactly why I'll be buying an Apple Car as soon as it arrives. If it arrives before I'm dead from old age.

My current car supports CarPlay, but the only way to get access to it is to wait 30 seconds after the car starts up and then click a few buttons on the screen. CarPlay can't be set to the default interface. This is just one example of how car manufacturers have been fighting against CarPlay. They won't let us set it as the default.
