Thanks for explaining, but it still seems that this could, and perhaps should, have been achieved sooner than now.  

I could probably agree with you on that.

Apple probably won't let people hide which country they are from because Apple is in the media business itself and they have to know which country a person is in for their own media-controlling purposes. For example, I'd like to pay for Paramount+ and get the US content, but I'm stuck with the Canadian content of Paramount+ which feels like 50% of what the US gets. Because of these limitations Apple probably doesn't call it a "VPN".

And why not extend that to operating a headless Mac mini using your iPad & Magic Keyboard with iPad as the only monitor?

I feel similar to you, but I can't figure out how you would move the mouse on a Mac using your finger on an iPad. That's because a mouse is a relative-change device which doesn't actually know where the pointer is, while an iPad is an absolute-change device where the pointer is where your finger is. Also, a finger can't "click and hold" which the mouse can do. I think a finger doesn't have the flexibility of a mouse which is (probably) why Apple can't support it the way you (and I) want.

Can someone explain why Disney chose to make Disney+ a separate app instead of being available as a channel inside the Apple TV app? What are they gaining from that decision? It seems like they lose functionality by doing that.
