Ugh. Let Bluetooth die. It's the floppy disc of wireless technology. Need something new.
Why? What is inherently bad with BT, and how would something else be better just because it is "new"?
For me personally sound quality and how easily it can be interfered with. I much prefer the sound quality that Wifi streaming offers and in my vehicles I am always plugged into a USB.

  • Leaked plan shows Intel will try to be more efficient than M1 Max by late 2023

Nowhere does the leaked slide say Intel is targeting m1 max.  Alder lake already beats m1 max at many tasks. With arrow lake-p, Intel is targeting whatever chip apple will have in-market in late 2023/early 2024.

What’s not mentioned in the slide is arrow lake-H. Intel’s p-series are it’s low power series. Intel’s h series are it’s high end mobile chips that offer desktop class performance.

If an intel low power p-series chip beats apple m2 max or m3 max, then the h series will have even more performance still. At a higher wattage of course.

My take: Arrow lake-p seems to be designed to match a similar performance per watt as apple’s m series chips. Arrow lake-h seems to be designed to leave apple in the dust. But only time will tell. The benefactor of this competition will be us, the consumer.

Intel has already claimed to be producing processors that exceed the performance of Apple's M1 Max. However, the difference is within a margin of error while at the same time, Intel's processors require dramatically more power.

Now the company is reportedly aiming at a new processor that will beat Apple's 2021 chips by early 2024 at the latest.

  • Apple shareholder group urges a no vote on CEO Tim Cook's $99M pay package

    mike54 said:
This level of greed is obscene. $99 million is just a no no. Not just for Tim Cook but for others too.
It's totally unjustifiable. The US is slowly being destroyed by runaway greed.

I was thinking the same.. Yes he has been getting paid considerably less than the other obscenely paid CEO's out there, but my god!

On average a CEO gets paid 351 times more than an average worker for goodness sake. I am not knocking Tim or the Job he has done over the years, but how much more money do any of these folks need.. seriously? People in this country aren't eating and we are concerned whether a person can/should get paid nearly 100M per year?

His net worth is $1.5B as it stands. Compensation from stock incentives plus a few million a year in salary has treated him very well over the years.

What in the world would he or any of these folks need more money for? It boggles my mind. B)

  • Sony acquires 'Destiny' game studio Bungie in $3.6 billion deal

    crowley said:
Seems like it might be a panic purchase in response to Bethesda/Activision.  Not sure what Sony stand to gain from buying Bungie, aside from keeping Bungie out of Microsoft's pockets.
My guess is that it involves a substantial future revenue stream first and "synergy" second. Blockbuster AAA games can be incredibly profitable, and every game Bungie rolls out will be an event. This isn't rocket science.
Destiny 2 still makes a ton of money.

Jim Ryan, the president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, said in a post on the PlayStation Blog. “Bungie’s world-class expertise in multi-platform development and live game services will help us deliver on our vision of expanding PlayStation to hundreds of millions of gamers,” he said.

Sony has been rumored to be launching an online game service similar to XBox's game pass.. Bungie can also help with that.

  • A Virginia woman has been stalking Tim Cook for more than a year

She is completely twisted and insane and I hope she gets a really long time in jail as soon as possible. Let me add something to the discussion here, though, a part of the story which I don’t understand: ”[…] claimed that she was Cook's wife and that the Apple chief executive was the father to her two twins”.

Isn’t the first step to scamming people, to actually tell a convincing or plausible story? He definitely, obviously, 100 % does not have a wife. Yeah, I know, she’s sick and lives in a fantasy world.
A mentally ill person should get a really long jail sentence ASAP?  You do realize that mental illness doesn't discriminate ..right? So if this was YOU, a family member or loved one. You would want them or yourself stuffed in a cage for a long time instead of getting the help needed?

Some offensive language was used in emails.. there isn't even an active police investigation on the matter? Yet she should do hard time? What a bizarre way to think this needs to be handled.
