  • Unsurprisingly, a 2020 iPad Pro will bend if you try to break it

I watch this channel pretty frequently..He did the same test with last year's model when they didn't have a case line. I also watched most of this video and he definitely recommends a cover, but he didn't specifically mention his own product?  Maybe he snuck it in at the end of the video when I was getting ready to work this morning?

He also does drop tests on all the new iPhones as well, has been for years before he/they ever sold cases.  What's a shame is that Apple didn't do a thing to give this iPad any more rigidity with this refresh. Similar to how they strengthened things up on the iPhone 6s after the whole Bendgate thing with the iPhone 6. I guess the bending issue was so small they didn't feel they needed too?  I am not really sure..

He was currently using a 12.9 inch Pro from last year ( It's sitting in front of him and he picks it up in the video )  that had a bit of a bend but was still functional.. before he unboxed and basically destroyed this new model.  I don't haul my iPad 10.5 Pro around in a back pack with a bunch of books or other devices, but there are a lot of folks who do and bending is a real concern if that a daily thing for you. If my personal device needs to come with me I have a full leather book style cover that I slap on and I wrap something around it.  I am more concerned about the screen than I ever was with bending.

Side note:  It hurt my soul to see him so easily bend the beautiful new silver Pro until it stopped working. It was the exact model I want for myself. B)

  • Review: Louis Vuitton Horizon earbuds are the luxury headphones you can't afford

Sort of an insulting headline, no? At $1120 these are certainly expensive for earbuds but I plenty of people with LV bags that cost just as much or more. Clearly there are less expensive bags than LV’s offerings but that doesn’t stop many people.

To me, it comes down more to this: are the wireless charging case, leather case and LV branding worth the additional $800? To me, no, because I don’t care about such things.
Some people will buy LV bags and use them for decades, get them refurbished when worn out and even pass them down to their children. I'm not a fashionista, so I don't get that either (to me it is simply a way to brag how much money you have). These are likely cheap chinese earbuds wrapped in a LV shell. When the internal batteries no longer hold a charge and better technology comes out, these will be dumped in the trash. You think anyone is still wearing a $10k gold series 1 Apple watch? Doubt it.
A better example would be the original SS Space Black with Link Bracelet Apple Watch that went for about the same price as these ear buds or, more currently, the ceramic models. Lots of people have those.

It’s still moderately insulting to say “you can’t afford” for something that’s just over $1000.

    Agreed..

"Luxury fashion brand Louis Vuitton has partnered with premium audio company Master & Dynamic for the second time"...  I thought the article confirmed their partnership with M&D?  I doubt these are cheap chinese buds wrapped in a LV shell as you imply.

Price is crazy to me, but that doesn't mean they are outright lying about what type of buds they actually are?

  • Foxconn claims it has secured enough workers for seasonal demand

Rational people are already asking if completely destroying the world economy will cause more harm than the virus itself will. There are millions of U.S. workers losing their jobs and those jobs will NOT be coming back after the shutdown is over. The economy will not magically bounce back to where it was pre-Covid-19. My daughter-in-law has been talking to her friends that operate small businesses like nail salons, craft stores and such. They are telling her they are out of business for good, bankrupt, and will not be reopening. Of course the big restaurant chains will survive but the local sandwich shop on the corner is gone for good. Poof!

Bankrupt in a few weeks? Sounds like they may have been having trouble before the shutdowns..no?

I am hoping with the leniency from creditors and banks because of what is going on will enable at least some of these small places to come back whenever the shutdown ends and things get back to somewhat normal.. If what you are saying is how it is going to be and not just the situation for some businesses holy shit we are in trouble.. real trouble..

  • Apple launches $350 iPad keyboard amid pandemic-fueled recession

I’ll wait for a third party to make one just as good if not better for way less. No, I’m not being cheap, I have the highest spec iPad Pro and iPhone. Keyboard with trackpad is what I’ve been wanting but only for occasional use. I’ll save my money for buying more Apple stock soon at a huge discount.

They reference this one in the article..

Looks good... but the floating cantilever design by Apple allowing the iPad to connect magnetically and be adjusted for use looks amazing. Looks way more robust that the old design.

First: I don’t know where you all are getting this $350 price, I’ve even seen some people claiming $399. I just went to appledotcom and checked and it is listed at $299. Still steep, but lets stick to facts here.

Second: You know you all are going to talk yourself into a major economic disaster if you keep this up. I even read a comment about how the Magic Keyboard was stupid for Apple to release because we were entering the next Great Depression that would last ten years. That’s just dumb.  Yes we are in for a few months of rough waters. A lot of entertainment and tourism businesses and staff will have a rough go of it. But overall this is a short term, a few months at most, problem. By summer, August at the very outside things will be getting back to normal. I work for a manufacturing company. We are shipping industrial equipment at a record pace. All of our vendors are reporting the same thing. Grocers are saying over and over that there are enough foodstuffs, cleaning supplies, even TP in the warehouses and being made to meet everyone’s needs. Clear shelves right now are due to stupid people buying stuff for stupid reasons. Indeed, the only people getting severely impacted by this are those that rely on big crowds of people. OMG the NCAAs are cancelled, itls the end of the world.

However, if everyone convinces themselves we are in the middle of a huge economic disaster, well they might just bring it on. Yes there are problems, but they are short term. This too shall pass. By this time next year we will look back on Covid-19 as an experience, but that’s all.
