Why wait, I'm already there... ;)
Another iPhone X feature ahead of its time.

This is in the Germantown, TN area.
5Ge is not 5G. Google it.
You missed the smiley  ;) and the sarcasm mark at the end?   SMH... sense of humor.. Google it!  ..

  • Spotify says subscriber growth now doubles Apple Music

While I haven't tried Spotify, Apple Music leaves a lot to be desired. Apple Music does very little to facilitate music discovery in the genres I like. For example, If I click on the browse section I'm greeted with Pop and R&B music. Most of my music interest is in Alternative, Singer/Song writer, Classical and Jazz. In order to get to these genres I've got to go to the browse tab, go to the bottom of the screen, and find "Genres". This process is extremely cumbersome as it blends in with reset of the UI elements.

Even the "For You" section isn't good at displaying new artists, tracks or playlists I may like. Sure it does personalize a bit, but I've found other than using "Recently Played" I never use anything else on the screen.

Maybe I'm overly critical, but for a company that knows every iTunes song I've purchased, all the songs I've uploaded through iTunes Match and all the songs I listen to daily, I find discovery/personlization in Apple Music to be completely underwhelming if not non-existent.
I am not sure how long you have been using AM? Do you use it regularly? As you use it more the recommendations for tracks and playlists def get better. Much better than in the past.  I listen to a lot of alternative and heavy music with a bit of house and older hip hop.  It does a nice job of recommending and showing new stuff if any from artists I listen to.  It certainly isn't great, but it has gotten better with more daily use and updates.

Apple Music has a free trial period, but no free tier. So the closest comparison should be Spotify Premium vs Apple Music.
It is, if you read the article. 113 million is their premium tier. Free subscribers are 248 million!
Monthly total active subscribers is 248M... Not 113M premium and 248M Free.. that would put them at 361M total users?  At least that is how I read it..

Spotify reports total monthly active users (MAUs) grew to 248 million during quarter three, a 30% year-over-year jump. More importantly, the company's premium tier numbers were up 31% on the year to hit 113 million paying subscribers.

  • If you updated your HomePod to 13.2, do not reset it or remove it from the Home app

    Mork said:

I think the boot process gets hosed when you try and reset with 13.2. Don’t know how they could introduce a software fix for the bricked HomePods. Under normal conditions once you do the hard reset (red light at top of HomePod) the device should complete its booting and prompt you to setup. The problem is the boot doesn’t compete and the device reboots ad infinitum. They introduced a serious bug in a step that most tech savvy people would take when having issues. Apple Music was inaccessible yesterday for a bunch of people and that probably prompted a bunch of resets. So after encountering these issues and bricking my device I brought it into an Apple store. They had no way to fix it so they replaced mine.
I had the same years ago with my iPhone 5S. Update did not finish so I reset the phone into a boot loop, had to go to the ....Genius Bar.... they replaced the phone.

So this is not a new issue.
A friend of mine just had this same thing happen on launch day with his iPhone 11 Pro. They replaced the phone that same night.

  • Apple allegedly revealing 'AirPods Pro' to media now, ahead of official launch

    $260? Wow.

I'm a sucker for Apple products. Have been for decades. I know this is my own personal opinion but there needs to be some incredible game changing technology in these things to justify that kind of money. Especially considering the average useful life cycle of the current AirPods. There are some decent alternatives out there now.

I'm looking to replace my gen 1's which only last ~30 minutes for music playback. To be fair I've certainly got my use out of them, but I'd be sick to my stomach had I lost one or both of them at $260. Not that the current pricing is throw-away money for me.
I thought the same when the newest PowerBeats came out at $249.00 ..yikes. I really want the functionality of the Airpods in a package that fits my ears.

I have the Beats X, but the wire attaching the buds gets annoying. Pairing is fast and range is great and the sound is surprisingly good... just the wire laying on the back of the neck is an eventual deal breaker. So I was looking forward to the new style in ear airpods, but at $260.00 I will probably hold off.  I can't justify to myself that much cash for earbuds..  maybe I will feel different once they are actually released.
