  • Photographer Austin Mann puts iPhone 12 Pro through its paces

I’ve got the blue 12 Pro on order. It’s about as big a phone as I want to have in my pocket. I have my iPad Pro and MacBook for larger screens when I need them.

  • Apple to launch Apple TV+ bundle with CBS All Access, Showtime for $9.99

They should still make offers to acquire the studios and libraries of Sony Pictures, MGM and/or niche library companies like Turner Classics or Criterion.
I was surprised that Apple launched TV+ without first acquiring at least a small library to provide a little depth to their offering.

  • Microsoft ends iOS xCloud testing, launching as Android exclusive

    Stinking Microsoft.

Always trying to fight with apple.
I don't think that MS always tries to fight Apple.  Look how, for example, Apple present them in their keynotes showing MS Office and Minecraft AR.  They were event mentioned to have MS Office for Apple Silicone devices.
And always banding together with the other also-rans

    Lol

    Good luck with that
Did Apple gave them other option?
Thanks my good man. Now for an Apple site that is actually willing to tell the truth: https://9to5mac.com/2020/08/05/microsoft-ends-tests-with-xcloud-gaming-platform/
"Microsoft hasn’t provided details about these App Store policies, but they’re probably referring to the fact that Apple rejects any app that offers its own catalog of apps or games within the App Store."

But here's the good news: Android devices are relatively cheap. You can get an Android tablet capable of running xCloud for $60-$80 and a phone - with a 6.5' screen no less - for about $99. In other words, less than what Apple charges for a Thunderbolt 3 Pro cable. (If official xCloud support comes to Android TV ... they run as little as $50). So there you go.
Your analysis is accurate. Though I think you would be more persuasive if you were a little less emphatic.

  • Apple Arcade has shifted to focus on games with higher 'engagement'

The article mentioned Grindstone, which I just started playing recently. It is a very high quality puzzler that I have already invested many hours in. I have zero doubt that if Apple Arcade didn’t exist Grindstone would have been released with micro transactions galore, timed levels, buying “gems” etc. Which means I wouldn’t have gotten to play it because I very rarely will play games with micro transactions beyond cosmetics. So, yes, I’m a fan of Apple’s model. That said, the ratio of low-quality indie titles to high-quality titles like Grindstone and Where Cards Fall is too high on the low-quality side. It’s a young service and I hope it continues to improve, and I will certainly give it time to do so given the low cost of the service.

  • Rosetta 2 lacks support for x86 virtualization, Boot Camp not an Apple Silicon option [u]

I’m not sure that everyone understands the difference between virtualization and emulation. It was never likely that x86 virtualization software would run on ARM Macs even with Rosetta. But it is a virtual certainty that Windows emulators will be available. They won’t be as good as a virtual machine but they will probably suffice more most needs.
