Chryslers will be great for prototyping. If one crashes, no one will care.

Thanks! I happen to drive one...Nice little car actually!

Its also extremely expensive and there's more issues (especially when it comes to safety) vs any Apple product currently in the line up.
Apple is better funded than Tesla, and Tesla has handled the safety issues very well - they are the safest cars out there. Try again!!

Thing is Apple is much better at hardware than they are at software. And their strength is supply chain. I'm very skeptical that any manufacturer would partner with Apple on car software. In order for it to be a money maker for Apple they'd need to be in a lot of different cars and I doubt BMW and Ford would agree to share the same software tech in their vehicles.
Do you know hardware of making car is completely different from making iPhone?
So closed minded. Think of the metallurgy Apple has done. Anodized aluminum - a custom-designed alloy that is 60% stronger than normal alloys but just as light. They have customized stainless steel as well, with alloying and processing steps to make it stronger. Cold-forging processing. 12-station milling machine to polish and add a diamond-like carbon layer to make the black Watch. And that's nothing compared to what they are doing with gold, adding silver, copper, and palladium in the alloy, as well as ceramic powder to make it more durable than normal gold. And, each gold watch is milled out of a solid gold bar. OK, Apple won't make a gold Car (or would they???) but Apple has a TON of expertise that could be used in making the car body, as well as the frame, suspension, wheels, etc. Probably light-years ahead of the dinosaur car companies that crank out the same steel frames, year after year...

  • Tim Cook calls FBI backdoor demand 'dangerous,' vows to fight case

Now hold on everyone. Here's an idea. A secure enclave within the secure enclave that is also 256 bit encryption but requires that 5 physical keys be turned at precisely the same time in 5 different offices in order to unlock the iPhone: The President of the United States, the Head of the FBI, the Chief of the CIA, the Head of Homeland Security, and Tim Cook. So, you have hardware security and software security. The iPhone MUST be docked to one of the 5 key stations. Hell, we can start World War 3 with the turn of just 2 keys, this would be tons better, wouldn't it?!?!?

I can just picture the movie coming from this. National Treasure 3. "How will we find the (insert priceless artifact name here)???" Nicholas Cage - "We're going to download the President's iPhone!! OK, we need to each break into the homes of the President, Tim Cook, and the leaders of the FBI, CIA, and Homeland Security, then remove the keys from around their necks while they sleep, take the President's iPhone 8, then break into the Oval Office, Pentagon, Apple Headquarters, and, well, wherever else the freaking offices are, then turn our keys at precisely 14:32:57. That's 2:32 AM, at exactly 57 seconds!! We have roughly 5 hours to accomplish this. Now, let's verify our iPhones have exactly the same time..."

  • Berenberg fires analyst infamous for doom-and-gloom Apple forecasts

I agree Berenberg is not responsible for investors who lose money, but I suspect they have been losing investors who got pissed based on the idiocy of their so-called 'analyst' and seeing what they missed out on based on stupid predictions. Once a bunch of high-valued investors (i.e. loaded investors) left for other more reputable and frankly less anti-Apple companies, Berenberg had no choice.
