What is a 'Retina' display, and why it matters
Thanks for this article.
"The first device Apple chose to outfit with this standard was iPhone 4, unveiled during that same event. Every display Apple has sold since then has held the Retina standard." is not true for many non-Retina MacBooks sold at least until 2018 (MacBook Air). It is true for iPhones though.
Regarding the higher pixel density for OLED iPhone displays, I think the reason for it is that they use (AFAIK) a pentile arrangement, instead of RGB for previous iPhone displays - in a pentile arrangement, not every color has the advertised density, so you need a higher advertised density to achieve the same perceived resolution. -
M2 Pro Mac mini review: Best price to performance Apple Silicon yet
@timmillea i very much disagree. As a long time Mac mini user and now also having a Studio, I very much like the Studio.
M2 Pro was not available 1 year ago - it would have been M1 Pro.And the Studio's M1 Max and Ultra are in a different class.I hope we see a M2 Max/Ultra Mac Studio. Or an evolution of its concept. -
M2 Pro Mac mini review: Best price to performance Apple Silicon yet

M1 Pro and M1 Max have the exact same CPU performance (unless the entry level M1 Pro with 2 disabled cores).
Same for M2 Pro and M2 Max.
...and yet every user/reviewer says that the Max versions are way faster than the Pro versions.
So saying that a M2 Pro Mac mini is faster than a M1 Max Mac Studio on the basis of CPU performance only is not serious at all.
But M1 Pro and M1 Max have the exact same performance.
And M2 Pro and M2 Max have the exact same performance.
GeekBench has a Compute benchmark to compare GPU performance.
In GeekBench 5 Compute Metal, the best score (manual search) for a Mac mini M2 Pro (Mac14,12) is 52933,
the best score for a Mac Studio M1 Max (Mac13,1) is 71492, which is 35% faster. -

Casexy review: These adorable phones cases can take a hit
radarthekat said:My iPhone 13 Pro Max wears a better looking clear case with all the same protections, only here in The Philippines the cost is just 400 Philippine pesos, a little under $8USD. And I can have a stocker made from any image file for about $1. Maybe I need to start an import business. 🙂
The review says the logo and Memoji do not age well at all.
So I kept my current clear case and purchased stickers from my Memoji on Etsy for a far lower price.
Thanks for the idea though!
