The review fails to mention if the charger supports "fast" iPhone charging 7.5W. Not all 10W Qi chargers do. Plus Apple changed the way fast charging works with iOS 13 and reduced its speed. So many (I have 2, inclining one in my car) chargers that used to charge iPhones at 7.5W now only work at 5W. These chargers are most often still advertised as charging iPhones at 7.5W. That does not change much when you charge you iPhone overnight, but does not allow anymore to charge an iPhone XS Max (which I have) with Apple Maps and Apple Music running over Bluetooth.

It may cut confusion but is 4 times more expensive than a USB-C dock, and the benefit of a Thunderbolt 3 dock over a USB-C dock is very little in most use cases, when you have 4 Thunderbolt 3 ports like on my MacBook Pro. 

Used it twice in Beijing, China in the last few months (each a time the 5GB/30 days plan).
1300 (no typo) less expensive than roaming with my French operator.
Worked great.
Furthermore, no chinese firewall, plus, I was identified as connected from the US (it probably assigned me a US IP).

Why not a 2018 MBP 13", with 4 cores instead of 2, which is a massive difference?

I don't miss it either because it is still here :-) It's called iTunes file sharing and is still very convenient to transfer very large files.
