  • Apple's new 30W USB-C power adapter replaces older 29W model

Fast charging really isn't worth the money. It's only faster under 50% and then it's the same speed as the 12W charger. I always charge @12W and my 7 Plus was still at 100% battery health more than a year after launch day when I sold it. I try and stay between 40-80% for the most part, never let it get below 20%, and don't leave it on the charger once it reaches 100%. Avoiding heat/cold helps too.

  • Apple Music takes on YouTube Music in our in-depth comparison

Sad Apple is artificially blocking the likes of Spotify to have Siri integration. Driving is unsafe because of it.
It's not much, but you can ask "who is this" now and Siri will reply which was not the case in the past. Still no actual control though.

  • iPhone X's Face ID reviewed, six months later

In my experience, I have to keep it a fairly consistent distance with a neutral expression. Slight angles won’t work, nor will having food in my mouth.
It sounds like you're hitting "cancel" and re-trying when Face ID fails instead of entering your passcode. This prevents Face ID from learning. I had a lot of failures when I first got my X but the success rate steadily improved over time as it gathered more data. Now I can make crazy expressions and have it pretty far to the side.

  • Cellebrite advertises its ability to unlock devices running iOS 11, including the iPhone X...

Cellbrite is widely suspected to be using NAND mirroring, a method that's been demonstrated as a proof of concept. They de-solder the memory chip, clone it thousands of times, and then install an external interface on the phone so the chip can be easily replaced. Each chip gets six passcode tries before lockout, then they swap it out for the new one.

  • Apple's latest iPhone X ad touts development of Portrait Lighting

Perhaps I'm using it wrong but I find front-facing portrait lighting to be an absolute joke compared to the rear camera. It just can't determine the borders of my face, which I find odd since it has the ability to perceive depth. Stage lighting looks like someone hastily scribbled around my head with a black paintbrush tool.
