  • ExxonMobil launches Apple Pay at the pump at 6,000 stations, only through in-app purchase

Apple nees to regulate this sh**. Tap to pay should be required for all brick and mortar stores/terminals. An optional app is ok.

Although not the way I want to pay, it's a start. Good thing is I've started to see signs go up at places advertising that they accept Apple/Android Pay.

I don't like those at all. This is why I wanted Apple to subsidize terminals. Seeing the droid next to Apple Pay makes it look like it's "just as good". I don't wanna see the copycat anywhere near the thing, it was Apple who opened the door to have both logos on terminals and if they start adding other logos like SammyPay these signs and terminals are gonna look cluttered and ugly when it should only be Apple on there. No piggyback rides for the losers who mock Apple.
It's up to the merchant if they want to accept cash only, or other forms of payment. Apple can not "regulate" this or require anything from the merchant.

Also seeing the Android Pay logo next to the Apple Pay logo causes you that much strife?

I can't imagine what happens when you see the VISA, Master Card, Discover, AmEX, and Diners Club logo's all lined up at the point of sale. That must be infuriating for you.

If only we had a credit card thin device that never ran out of battery and worked at every fuel pump and store on earth that has a credit card slot.

  • Apple patents magnetically detachable wireless earbuds for iPhone

About the demise of the 3.5mm headphone jack being a relic:

When I purchased the very first iPhone on day one, non of my headphones worked with it and I needed to buy an adapter. It was a bulky solution to a problem that should not have existed.

To this day I still use all of those same headphones and my first iPhone sits in a drawer. A relic of yesterdays technology.

I hope that Apple does not eliminate the 3.5mm jack.

  • Court overturns Apple's $120M patent win against Samsung

America sides with the Korean counterfeit company once again!!

I've seriously thought about this. Apple is the highest tax payer in the U.S. Is a homegrown American success story and provides hundreds of thousands of jobs in the U.S. yet they're the most hated company in America.

I think Apple has enough money to buy an island they can operate from or go foreign like Ireland or some really poor 3rd world country and boost their economy instead.
The GDP of Ireland (as of 2013) was $232.1 billion. That's a nearly negligible cost for Apple. They could buy the entire country, exit the EU and attract other global companies with close to zero tax rates. Every large company on the planet would love this. Plus, they'd have instant access to an English-speaking, generally well educated population of nearly 5 million. I'd even move there if they followed the political model of the Free State Project (in the US).
Do you honestly believe that the GDP of a country is its entire value and can be purchased for that amount?

I'm curious if there is in fact a location on Earth that is acceptable for a fair trial.

West Texas, well we all know how that works out.

California, Judge Koh is labeled as a Korean sympathizer.

Washington D.C. Samsung paid off the judges.

The list of excuses starts to get pretty thin after a while. It's tiring and quite frankly childish.

What we need is patent reform and not the same old "us vs. them" mindset. People like to frame things into a simple picture of winners and losers. In reality what we want is a great game. Competition and advancement of new breathtaking technology is a good thing.

We all want better hardware, better software, better services, better prices. If patents are a must then fair reasonable and non-discriminatory should be the rule. That benefits the consumer as well as benefiting the corporation.
