  • Apple Music coming to Amazon's Echo speaker range on December 17

I don’t agree that the Echo range and HomePod are “competing” per se. It’s like saying the iPhone and a $100 Android phone are competing. They are in the same market but at different levels. And yes, the Echo is dominating the market share metric just like Android dominates the  smartphone market share with its myriad of cheap products.

As for Apple Music and the Echo it’s no surprise at all. The iPod started out exclusive to Apple and iTunes became cross platform later. If Apple wants to grow in the services area then they must go cross platform. Apple’s customer base will still buy Apple products. I bought an Echo just to see what it was all about and it’s not all that superior a product. It’s just relatively cheap and cheap has never doomed Apple in the past even with pundits predicting it would.
Completely agree..i have echo and 6 Homepods...comparing them is like comparing my Vintage Jaguar convertible with my prius.  They do different things..each in their lane well.  The echo is great for listening to audiobooks but when you are in ‘that mood’ a house full of homepods delivers an experience just like the Jag does on a sunny 80 degree day on the Cape.

  • How to choose between stainless steel vs aluminum Apple Watches

This was a great review.  I have a different take on stainless.  I have owned stainless watches over the years that cost several times what the Apple watch costs.  The scratches for me were intolerable and they appear no matter how careful one is.  A billion ‘micro scratches’ is no longer a micro effect.  I notice makers like Cartier, Dunhill and Rolex (all of which I own or have owned) incorporated some matte with the bright finish so the scratches appear less objectionable.  I have owned every Apple watch since the onset, sometimes 2 at the same time, once they updated the software.  I chose aluminum but I have a thin screen protector install by this great guy who can apply it so well you cannot tell it’s on.  It has saved me more than once.  I believe it cost me $20 and $15 each when I take him 2 at the same time.  My wish is that Apple would make the watch with a tungsten case....gorgeous color and next to impossible to scratch.

  • Latest California Apple store robbery caught on video

In the first major Apple store theft since the arrival of the new iPhones, several individuals carried out a robbery in Santa Rosa, and one suspect was caught.

    The Santa Rosa Apple Store

In another of a long series of similar robberies in California, several men rushed into an Apple store in Santa Rosa, Calif., on Sunday and stole merchandise from display tables before running off. But this time, a bystander videotaped both the robbery itself and one of the suspects being wrestled to the ground by security guards and civilians.

The bystander, who uses the online username "Gooneryoda," filmed the videos and later posted them to Twitter, YouTube and Reddit.

"I was at the Santa Rosa Plaza and I saw these six guys in jeans and hoodies making a their way to the Apple Store. I knew something was about to go down so I recorded it," Gooneryoda wrote on r/Apple subreddit, before posting the video of the suspects running into the store:

The user then posted a second video of one of the suspects being subdued, wrestled to the ground and handcuffed by a pair of uniformed officers and two men in plain clothes, in what appears to be a different part of the mall (caution: strong language):

Later in the day, the Santa Rosa Police Department's Facebook page reported that "several thieves entered the Apple Store at the Santa Rosa Plaza mall and ran away with multiple devices."

Dozens of similar Apple store robberies have taken place this year throughout California, and at least two crews carrying out the crimes have been arrested. The thefts have often been caught on store security video, but rarely have they been recorded live by bystanders. The same Apple store, at Santa Rosa Plaza, was similarly robbed in late August, with thieves making off with $35,000 in merchandise.

Law enforcement sources contacted by AppleInsider in recent weeks are unclear on how many crews are at work and if they are connected. One officer, Lt. Robert Boll of the Burlingame Police Department, said there's likely a copycat effect at work.

"They see how easy it is when the news plays the video," he told AppleInsider.
I am totally against theft.  That said, these incidents generate massive publicity.  Nobody is breaking in the microsoft stores LMAO. Think of the thefts as commercial time and quantify the dollars it represents.  The cost of the goods stolen isn’t even a blip for Apple. If Apple seriously wanted to stop this there are security experts who could show them how

That video is making it hard for me to not get the Nike version in October.
Hahahaha - I was shocked reading your comment thinking for a moment that the 'Nike version' was a different make of watch! What was Soli saying? But yes, the Nike version, nice.  :)
    1) LOL I can see Nike making their own.

    2) I like the sports bands they use. My for Series 3 Nike Watch band is still in perfect shape so I could get something else, but I slo don't see myself changing up bands for the same of style.
I got my space grey 44 yesterday...for anyone on the fence...don’t give it a second thought.  I have had at least one of every apple watch since the beginning.  The 4 puts to rest once and for all the many doom sayers who rose from the swamps to predict the watch would fail.  As I often have 2 apple watches, one just for the gym, I will buy the Nike edition next as I support their Colin Kaepernick marketing campaign.

  • Apple Watch surges to top of global wearables market with 'market-beating growth'

Sad day. Apple has succeeded convincing a lot of people that it's OK for your watch to only last one day. Reminds me when you had to wind your mechanical watch each evening, except charging your Apple watch takes longer, and maybe you have to also charge it again in the morning, to make sure you start with a full battery for the day ahead.
DO NOT BUY ONE and whine about something else
