  • Bluetooth headphone sales surpass others for first time, with Apple's Beats in top spot

Let summer I purchased a BT headphone for my son for about 25 Euro from a Lidl supermarket whilst on holiday in Spain. Maybe not as good as headphones costing 10 times as much the sound is still great.  It never fails to connect and although not used every day one charge lasts for weeks and weeks. If a supermarket can get it right on a budget this has to be  a sign that the technology has matured. Looks like Apple timing for getting rid of the 3.5 jack will be spot on and will help tip the balance away from wired headphone to wireless ones.

  • Apple Q3 likely to disappoint in wake of Brexit, slower iPhone upgrade cycles, analyst says

    sky king said:
What a bunch of balderdash.  Apple is going to be just fine.  So are the people who left the EU.
Despite what is being said no one has left the EU yet.  For the UK to leave the EU it has to exercise Article 50. This has not happened yet, may not happen for some months, and it is possible that it may not happen for years or ever.  There is a lot to negotiate on both sides, and it is possible that there could be some blood letting in the EU resulting in a change approach.

My impression is that the UK is one of the better markets for its products in Europe. It always seems to be included in day one for new Apple hardware releases which does not appear to be the case with some of the other European Countries.

  • New rules may put up barriers to games on Apple's App Store in China

I am guessing but say there is a new hit game from the USA or Europe and then a game is produced in China that looks similar, the local Chinese copy could get approved much quicker than the original one from the USA or Europe. Is this an unfair restriction on trade?

  • Browser-based Apple Pay predicted to chip away at PayPal's dominance with both consumers & merchant

I too have had bad experiences with PayPal and now refuse to use it. Irrationally l now think that any company which accepts PayPal  is not one l wish to do business with. When ApplePay becomes an alternative l am sure there will be lots of switches from PayPal very quickly.

  • Manhattan DA calls on US Congress to support bill requiring mandatory decryption

I remember a few years ago in a block of flats where I used to live and was on the management committee the caretaker, who was an ex Policeman, was serious about his idea that all resident should wear ID cards all the time! This is how the Police mind works. They have no understanding of what reasonable ordinary people feel is a liberty.
