  • Apple announces 4" iPhone SE with A9 CPU, same design as iPhone 5s, starting at $399

The $399 price for a BRAND NEW PHONE with specs the same as a 6 month flagship.

    Wow.

This is a totally shift in Apple's strategy.

IMO, Apple is trying to maximize user base (while still making good profits) with the SE.  Then Apple will sell more services.  Expect to see Apple release much more services in the next 24 months.
The other thing to note was that 30 million 4 inch iPhones were sold in 2015. Some said there is not much demand for a 4 inch iPhone, There will be even more than 30 million in 2016 with the new price and performance.

  • 'iPhone SE' rumors spark hopes that Apple will continue to sell iPhone 5s at $350 or less

These clowns will never give up the fantasy of Apple selling cheap crap.
Are you saying the iPhone 5S is rubbish? The analysts may have got the pricing wrong but in the past Apple have sold older models at reduced prices such as  the 4S, so there is nothing wrong with continuing the price reduction idea with the 5S if a new model replaces it.

As noted before there are many of us who do not want a phone bigger than the 5 Series and who have not renewed our iPhones because we do not want the larger 6 Series. The introduction of the new 4 inch iPhone is important because Apple will need to make decisions on how far to upgrade the hardware and how the pricing fits in with the established 6 and 6S models.

  • Apple Music partner Sonos to layoff employees, renew focus on streaming and voice control

I have had a Sonos system for many years. In many ways they have a similar outlook to Apple. They have sold good quality equipment backed up by excellent customer service. It seems that for years they have had the market for wireless music eco systems almost to themselves but I have noticed that recently a number of big players have entered thier market. I do hope they continue to sell and invest in wireless speaker systems.

  • Apple's new 4-inch iPhone to enter mass production soon, estimated to ship 12M units in 2016

I think this is a mistake. No one wants a small phone (except maybe people who have never used a larger one). Even 12 million might be on the optimistic side.

I think you are mistaken. Over the last few month there have been many posters on AI including myself who have indicated we don't want a bigger iPhone and then there are those who said they purchased a bigger one and now want to return to a smaller iPhone.  Apple are the only people with the facts but from what they have hinted around 50% of iPhone users don't have the bigger phones.  Clearly some of them don't like the bigger phone. That is potentailly hundreds of millions of potential customers for a new 4 inch iPhone.

  • 'This would be bad for America,' Tim Cook tells ABC News about creating iPhone backdoor

Tim Cook has covered two key points with ABC: the issue of balance between individuals and society, and the unforeseen consequences for American's worldwide image and position if the FBI gets its way. He is spot on.
