  • Apple CEO Tim Cook gifts President Trump gold & glass commemorative plaque

During an award ceremony with US Ambassador Arthur Gardner, a ceremonial golden telephone was presented to the Cuban dictator, Fulgencio Batista, in 1957.[3] The instrument is currently on display in Museum of the Revolution, formerly Batista's presidential palace, in Havana.
Thanks for the post and I get it, but Tim has a fiduciary responsibility to the company as a publicly traded company.  He can’t just say FU and walk away.  In this role, he is doing what he needs to do.  And I don’t think it is the fear of being pushed out of a window either.  We will see what happens to Elon.

  • Apple expected to announce another $100B U.S. manufacturing investment

If there's one thing I love about this Republican administration, it's their small "g" government approach! They're all about getting government and regulations off the backs of businesses, finally! Except, of course, for the use of tariffs as blatant extortion to force businesses to invest where Trump wants them to invest, the actual economics of such investment be damned!

By the way, how is that $10 billion investment from Foxconn in Wisconsin going, the one that Trump 45 announced with much fanfare? Have they filled all 13,000 new jobs yet? /s
Thanks of the post and that was Trumpeted at the time as a huge American success.  And you forgot to mention the people who were upended by eminent domain in the process.  It was a shit show but it got Foxconn some tax breaks.

  • Apple's iPhone manufacturing plan hit by Trump doubling tariffs on India

    Thanks Mike for defending reality.

While Trump's initial post on social media alluded to India selling oil to Russia…”

Opposite land on display.  That is all you need to know about WH expertise in these decisions.  And ironically Russia remains free of tariffs.

  • Trump claims TSMC will invest $300 billion in Arizona, pledges semiconductor tariff

Trump et. al. don’t understand the complexity of technology manufacturing especially chip manufacturing.  They have nonclue about the scale of TSMC chip fab manufacturing in Taiwan.  Even if TSMC invests 300B (and I am sure this is not a formal commitment) in the US, that facility will always be five years behind their Taiwan mega-factory.  Likewise the equipment to make the chips involves specialized equipment that needs to be imported and will also be subject to tariffs.

Can’t someone just give him a golf trophy (or bribe) so he can just stop this nonsense?  This administration is turning out to be the most business unfriendly  administration in history (outside of the oil, coal and steel interests that most have bribed him).

He seems determined to crater the economy.

  • 'Alien: Earth' immersive environment coming to Disney+ for Apple Vision Pro

For the life of me, I don’t understand why the AppleTV franchise isn’t doing this.  It makes no sense that Apple refuses to make content for its own device—gaming, sporting events, TV should all be supporting the device while it gets its wings.
