Thanks Mike and William for the article and thanks Mike for defending common sense in the comment section.  

This DOJ action is an example of our government’s misguided sense of priorities and how they are out-of-touch with real issues…real monopolies and financial abuses that affect us are ignored (Ticket Master, credit card, banking overcharges, payday lending) are the examples that comes to mind and real criminality (hacking, the exploitation of the elderly, other forms of cybercrime) are ignored.

The other perplexing thing here are the big-tech things they are ignoring—Google’s monopoly on independent video delivery (YouTube), search, the way they handle ad sales; the stranglehold Amazon has on sellers in their marketplace.

Yeah the Life of Brian quote is appropriate- “hate those Romans, what have they done for us?”

Apple just attracts the hate for reasons I can never understand.

And don’t get me started on the misguided Tick Tock ban because of politicians’ “feelings.”

Thanks DED, this article made my day.  God knows what the tech-pundit-sphere would do if they didn’t have Apple to hate or deride.

Most car companies are not going to drop support for CarPlay because a) it plugs in from the iPhone rather than being embedded and b) because there are a lot of people who love CarPlay too much.

Google made an offer carmakers couldn't refuse: spy on users and you can sell that data with an embedded system that only CarPlay can override (for now).

Agree, evidently GM is already selling data to insurers about driver behavior to assess whether a potential insured is a good risk or not.  Welcome to the world of the heavily connected and monitored car.  I am sure Alphabet would love this market.

Agree as someone who has both tinnitus and high frequency hearing loss, I would much rather rely on Apple for a solution than suboptimal standard issue hearing aids.

I know I am a frog in the slowly boiling vat of shit formally known as Twitter.  Every week it seems to get worse and worse, and now auto enabled calls from trolls.  What could go wrong?
