Senator Warren asks if Apple CEO Tim Cook's Trump playbook is blatant corruption
This was not corruption. Tim Cook was executing his fiduciary responsibilities to Apple as a publicly traded company (and I should add to the benefit of America and its economy) to stop the madness of this economic policy.
Even if one agrees with the need to rebalance trade with China, Liberation Day was poorly executed and only brought more harm to the US than benefit.
Agree with others here, Warren needs a new playbook.
Corporate America is not always evil. Everyone that has a retirement plan had a stake in making this policy get moderated. Unfortunately long-lasting harm occurred with stocks, the bond market and the dollar dropping simultaneously. Other countries learned not to depend on us or trust us for the longterm. -
iPhone Fold in 2026 is probable, but iPad Fold is doubtful

Apple will take a $33 billion hit to its bottom line because of Trump tariffs
This is entirely a selfInflicted gunshot wound, taking an economy that was doing well and strangling it. Apple and every other manufacturer of complex goods is not going to reshore production at great expense and time to the US because the WH messaging is psychotic and unhinged. You can’t make decisions involving billions of dollars and years with this clown car. Instead the companies will just stomach the tariffs and adjust around the margins. But what they will do is lay off personnel which is shitty. Recession (or worse) here we come. Hope MAGA is happy. Turns out voting to “own the libs” was an expensive purchase. -
More Apple chips could be made in US thanks to TSMC & Intel joint venture
in TSMC’s Taiwan Chip Industrial Complex they have a “factory” that turns out PHD candidates for the company. And their first job at TSMC is working the night shift at fab processes.
They were always going to win. It’s a different culture.
I am more and more convinced that Trump will just let the Chinese roll into Taiwan and have them take over the country in his “zones of influence” mindset that might makes right.
I suspect we don’t have a choice but to attempt to move over some feeble production lines but we won’t be able to duplicate the sum total of their greatness. -
Apple stock bloodbath continues after China applies retaliatory tariffs
When I saw the stripped down quality of the iPhone16e, my first thought was this is a phone made for tariffs.
The whole market is imploding and you could say that the money has moved out and will flow back in but the larger issue is having the MAGA clown car setting off a recession. Despite protests to the contrary, are we sure DJT and the car aren’t Russian operatives? They sure act like it.
Prices are going to go up and the Reserve is hamstrung because lower interest rates will just add fuel to the inflation fire.
The sad thing is if they just did nothing and Trump just golfed, the economy would have been fine. This is an economic 9/11.
