More Apple chips could be made in US thanks to TSMC & Intel joint venture
in TSMC’s Taiwan Chip Industrial Complex they have a “factory” that turns out PHD candidates for the company. And their first job at TSMC is working the night shift at fab processes.
They were always going to win. It’s a different culture.
I am more and more convinced that Trump will just let the Chinese roll into Taiwan and have them take over the country in his “zones of influence” mindset that might makes right.
I suspect we don’t have a choice but to attempt to move over some feeble production lines but we won’t be able to duplicate the sum total of their greatness. -
Apple stock bloodbath continues after China applies retaliatory tariffs
When I saw the stripped down quality of the iPhone16e, my first thought was this is a phone made for tariffs.
The whole market is imploding and you could say that the money has moved out and will flow back in but the larger issue is having the MAGA clown car setting off a recession. Despite protests to the contrary, are we sure DJT and the car aren’t Russian operatives? They sure act like it.
Prices are going to go up and the Reserve is hamstrung because lower interest rates will just add fuel to the inflation fire.
The sad thing is if they just did nothing and Trump just golfed, the economy would have been fine. This is an economic 9/11. -
Trump's 'Liberation Day' tariffs hit every one of Apple's international manufacturing part...
His supporters look to Russia, Hungary and Turkey for guidance. Maybe they should also look at these economies as well which have suffered. Hungary is now one of the most corrupt countries of the EU and its economy has suffered. Russia despite its landmass has an economy the size of Italy. Authoritarian movements harm economies. -

Apple's rumored Home Hub said to be under employee testing
Agree with most of what is said here, Apple missed the boat in not acquiring Eero IMHO as mesh wifi could have been a fondation in building out the smart home—Homepods, AppleTVs, security cameras, baby monitors, sensors, should all double as mesh wifi nodes. Apple would have been perfect to compete in the home security market—great opportunities for further build outs of services etc etc. And a base for more usable robotics, i.e patrolling drones and vacuums.
