iPhone 11 sales continue to cut down Android's market share globally
imat said:Interesting breakdown. It shows that, where the average income is lower, the share of iOS is too, but also climbing. It seems that, at lower price points, the untapped potential is still there. Not that Apple has to profit, but lowering the iPhone 11 price might have helped, especially in markets where the average income is, as said, lower.

Apple's Cook addresses App Store monopoly, Apple TV+ launch, iPhone 11 in interview
AppleExposed said:revenant said:How much did small app makers make before?
$0 if they didn't lose money on cancelled projects.
If Apple hadn't invented iPhone, most apps and developers wouldn't exist. As an app developer I can say this Is BS. Prior to the app store, I developed a lot of web applications and made a lot of money. The App Store ecosystem just raised the expectations of the customers. They are requesting, next to the web client for PC and Macs, a nice iOS app.And in the 7 years I make iOS apps, the iOS business line is the least profitable one. Not only do I lose the 30% cut, which is non existing for a web client, but the development and approval of an iOS app costs me roughly 2 to 3 times more than a plain web client. -
Apple TV+ will struggle to meet European quotas for local content at launch
razorpit said:Did not know this law existed. Does Europe have this requirement for any other industry such as manufacturing? No it is only for cultural items. The purpose is to promote the productions in the many smaller languages in the EU. A Danish production with world wide addressable market of 6 million Danish speaking people, can never compete with an English/American production. The only way to have at least some Danish speaking content, is to have an obligation to partially produce some local content with local actors and directors. This scheme has been existing for a long time on a per country basis. In view of the upcoming elimination of per country distribution rights of cultural productions, these regulations have been extended on a European level. -
5G iPhone impact underestimated by investors & analysts, says Jefferies analyst
AppleExposed said:A company that sells knockoff Apple products and has knockoff Apple Stores will "shape China's innovation"??
This only cements the cliche "cheap chinese knockoffs".

Apple's appeal against $14.4B EU & Ireland tax payment is this week
lkrupp said:Why bother, Apple? This is a done deal. You actually think you can talk the EU out of $15B? They’re drooling at the mouth to get their hands on that cash, most of which will wind up in their own and their friends pockets. You worked out a deal with Ireland and years later the EU is now crying foul? How convenient for them. You did not read the article. In case the EU wins, Apple has to pay Ireland the 13.1 billion Euo, the EU is not getting a single eurocent. I don't say that EU is without any sins, but your bashing here is pointless and off topic. The case is not about taxes, it is about Ireland giving Apple an unfair competitive advantage, which is forbidden by European law.
