Steve Jobs had said "Apple is focused on the future, not the past." Obviously that's not the case anymore. 

Yeah. Like copy-catting the earlier-than-Apple "phablet" makers and the "brilliant" (/s) slippery soap bar design was really getting out there on the edge, and "thinking different".

Great review, Neal. Really hit all the points that I too find attractive about this unit. (even covered every benefit that I have long touted about Apple's square edge case design). The only thing I will miss not having on this phone (for me) would be 3D touch. I really really like that feature (and what it can become in the future), but it doesn't outweigh all the other benefits (to me) of this phone. I will be purchasing 64GB Space Grey end of the month. (good-by my trusty old white 4s)

Wish I could understand why almost every single story I read here about this phone feels like it is some sort of apology or some sort of 'excuse' for it's size?

What?!! A problem with new software from Apple?? I'm so shocked. All they're releases have been so rock solid over recent times. /s
