iPhone blamed for including journalist in highly classified bombing plans
That's the problem in a nutshell ... there apparently isn't an approved texting program for secure government communications. There's certainly a secure email system, and approved secure phone lines, but no texting platform for sensitive discussions -- hopefully this will inspire the administration to make one. Now, for the sake of consistency, fire whoever disclosed state secrets. If you don’t, every rank and file government worker will use this as a precedent to not lose their jobs. In my view, it’s not the person who invited the journalist to the chat. That’s just the ‘getting caught’ part. It’s the person who disclosed sensitive information on an insecure channel. It’s the person who put their pilots lives in danger. -
Why the iPhone 16E doesnt truly fit the iPhone SE's shoes
And then there’s the enterprise bulk purchases. Companies will usually order whatever is cheapest. We buy around 500-1000 SE’s per year, with a 2-3 year turnover timeline. If you don’t like what they’re offering, you can go BYOD and get a $25/month subsidy. It doesn’t fully cover your device and plan, but if you want the latest greatest, pony up. -
Apple Maps shows users the Gulf of Mexico when searching for 'Gulf of America'
Apple is a global company. As such, it should use place names that are internationally recognized. If a particular country wants to unilaterally use their own nickname for a place, fill your boots. But you can’t make it change for the rest of the world. As for the whole fascist thing. Someone once described to me that the whole left-right wing thing is a misnomer. It’s not linear as the words seem to depict. It’s referred as the horseshoe theory. Where the fascist (extreme right) is ideologically closer to the anarchist (extreme left) than they are to the centrist.
Politics and ideology aside, what I’m witnessing to the south of me (Canada) looks like the start of the fall of the American empire, and that scares me.
