    Siri killed it.

It’s not a hardware problem, Apple’s superior in that regard.

The question is: How do you develop a superior AI without customer data?
... Who’s asking the question?  Why? How? Where? ... kind of important.

Smart speakers are more than just about playing music...
This is exactly what’s been holding me back from purchasing, at minimum, three HomePods. Until Apple can create multi-user support, no money’s spent.
That’s why you have the choices.....theres 4 for $100 speakers out there. Like I said if you cannot afford Apple products stay away from them.....you have the choices. Me I can afford all of them so I have everything new. Period
Not sure how the price of the HomePod has anything to do with multi-user support?
It doesn't. It seemed like Kuyangkoh was simply looking for an excuse to boast by telling everyone (s)he's wealthy. Like you, I thought the placement was awkward and out of place, as it had nothing to do with the quoted comment.

Having only very passively followed the story, I thought the risk associated with Huawei infrastructure products was pretty well established. Didn't the Dutch government recently come to the same conclusion? Are you saying they're lying?

  • Mozilla issues Firefox fix following weekend of extension woes

More server-side everything leading to huge messes for users. Yay for cloud technology.

i just had a companion asking me about why her ad blocker no longer worked. I found out about this obnoxious mess via a review posted on an ad blocker entry on Mozilla’s extension library. How exactly did Mozilla inform users? Through the update mechanism?

Abandoning users of older versions, after screwing them up, is getting to be an absolute norm in this stupid industry, even with free products. This is not progress.
Being the schmuck I am, it never occurred to me that it might be a bug. I just assumed I needed to update my ad blocker extension. When it wouldn't install, I figured I must have to delete the old one to install the new one. For some reason it didn't occur to me that by doing that I was also deleting my custom blocking list and my whitelist. Whoops. Damn.

I'm thinking of all those dead auto mechanics killed in gas tank and lead-acid battery explosions, especially since those two items are factors of magnitude more dangerous than a cellphone.
A former co-worker died last year when his vehicle fell on him while he was working on it. The manufacturer of the vehicle is not liable for this. Why would Apple be liable for someone puncturing a battery?

    It's a bullshit argument.

  • Netflix rolls out adaptive 'high-quality' audio for Apple TV owners with surround sound

Stop forcing me to select a profile every day when I only have one? Still bozos when it comes to software.
We should compile a list and hit Netflix with it every single day until they get it right:

    1. Stop forcing me to constantly select a profile when I only have one.

    2. Stop autoplaying trailers every time I open the app and every time I pause on an icon within it.

    3. Make it compatible with the TV app on the TV.

    4. Stop shuffling my Watch List.

    What have I missed?
