  • Comparing the 2018 MacBook Air with the less-expensive 2017 model

Great article. I have an old Air that I love, but it cannot be upgraded to Mohave nor perform certain useful features (Air Mirror, for instance).

Good to see the performance increase. Still, I am mostly concerned about the need to buy dongles for everything (here is a pen drive, plug it in, oh wait... I can't). I need good old VGA and HDMI too, so the difference is more than 200$.

I would miss Magsafe too and the cool LED indicator.

Just one USB-A port left, and no removal of Magsafe and I would be complelety sold on the new size, screen, battery, performance and TouchID. Now... undecided.

  • Apple's latest ad uses human 'flood' to sell iPhone XR colors

Terrible ad. They look like the lemmings of the Mac ad or even the gray people on the seats of the 1984 ad. Boring song, poor execution, the "colors" are washed down too much, people run with no apparent goal or look like inmates escaping from a prison (which makes them scary). Gee, Apple, you can do much better.

  • Qualcomm blocked evidence in German Apple suit that previously led to non-infringement fin...

    Nothing new for Qualcomm.

In 2007, Qualcomm and its lawyers got into trouble on the last day of a lengthy patent trial when a key witness admitted there were several email critical to the case that had not been produced. During post trial proceedings, it came to light that a lot more relevant emails and other documents hadn’t been produced—over 300,000 pages of juicy stuff. The trial court went ballistic and referred the matter to Magistrate Major for further investigation and a recommendation on sanctions.

On January 7th, Magistrate Major released a 42 page Order issuing over $8.5 million in sanctions against Qualcomm and referring 6 of its lawyers (out of 19 who were at risk) to the California Bar for investigation of possible ethics violations.

Plus, they were fined for hiring relatives of Government decision-makers as interns in China... another ethics violation.

They seem to be on a roll.
