    I guess one of the questions, if not the key question, is whether or not this is more going to reinvigorate Mac app sales or over time attract more people to the the iPad Pro as their primary platform.  I prefer to think it's going to be good for both. And I'm increasingly feeling (after a few years of waxing more and more critical) that in general Apple is starting to really get their Mac game (NTM their overall game) back in gear on most levels - and I'll say all levels if they ever deliver a new notebook I can feel both confident (keyboard) and happy (keyboard) in putting down a few thousand bucks for. 

    I might even become less cross platform and buy further into the ecosystem.  Sidecar making an iPad both a second screen and a stand-in for a Cintiq is pretty dang appealing!  It even gives all the development work on the touch bar a place to survive....!!

    ....a Cintiq-a-like and a whole lot more....!

    Also, sufficient reason to upgrade to Catalina itself (I hate to mess with well-working setups).

    No. I don't mean to rain on your parade, but no, that's not happening. The MBPs just got updated literally yesterday, I don't think you should expect a new one in a week (of any size). Ming-Chi Kuo predicted what sounded essentially like a 15-inch body with a more-borderless screen to make it a 16-point-something-incher. Maybe that will happen, but now it seems unlikely to appear this year.
    If a sixteen (?) incher with a newly engineered scissors keyboard (?) is coming, and it seems to be (with whatever modifications from the current gens), it could be by the end of the year. But yesterday's releases seem enough to hold the fort for the nonce - I was momentarily moved because I've been waiting ever since keygate began, but I can go another 6-12 months at this point - and I'm betting that if the new machine's on the way, it will wait for compatibility with newer low power RAM.

    It's gonna take that long to fix a keyboard issue that was never broken in the first place 'till they broke it?

    And ANOTHER two years before Apple offers ANY notebook many of feel we can buy with confidence that it'll be usable for us?

    I may have to start looking for the last of the MB Airs before they got caught up in butterfly gate.  And give an Win 10 machine a try.

    Honest, Tim, I've had $3,000 burning a hole in my pocket for over three years now....!  This is getting beyond farcial.  Why has Apple just kept doubling down on the worst KB they've ever offered (worst on multiple dimensions for many of us, though yeah I know, it works for many, noise and all.  But "works for many" should never be Apple's goal.)
