  • Apple ends its Qualcomm dependency with the new C1 modem chip

Yeah - we never seem to see the cost savings in our own pocketbooks. Nominally, one can argue that it allows Apple to spend more on other components, giving us more phone for the money but it ends up being a giant shell game.
    Not really.

Apple plows much of its profit into R&D, which is why it often has innovative and industry-leading (not to mention best-selling) products. Yes, iPhones are expensive -- but they are clearly superior to nearly all Android phones, except for the premium Android phones which -- surprise! -- are priced comparably.

  • Tim Cook's tweet hints at new name for iPhone SE 4

This strikes me as a simple misinterpretation of what Mr Cook said.

The iPhone SE (4th-gen) is a new product. So the description Cook applied to it ... still applies.

Of course there are other possibilities, including a name change to "16E" (terribley idea IMO), or possibly a surprise product announcement in addition.

As always, we'll see soon enough.

  • MacBook Pro rumored to get Apple Silicon M5 before iPad Pro

The article says that M4 Mac Studios should arrive before the M5 arrives in the fall, so I think it's safe to say that they will show up in the spring or summer.

  • Apple's Siri renovation is probably going to take longer than expected

iPhone 16 was marketed with the ability to work with Apple Intelligence and the features that would be made available in future iOS updates.
And it does. I use some part of it nearly every day, particularly the writing tools.

Apple Intelligence is in a nascent form right now, but will continue to grow and expand over the coming years -- like pretty much every bit of software Apple has ever released.

  • How to unplug from Apple Intelligence on iOS and macOS

As a longtime professional editor and writer:

People who think their writing is perfect and doesn't need any proofreading are generally fools.

I can certainly see why some people might not want the other features of Apple Intelligence, but I'd encourage people to try the proofreading tools -- you may be surprised at how much it finds.
