  • YouTube Music is Google's second way to listen to podcasts

It wouldn’t be Google is they didn’t make at least two apps that do the same thing, then not support them properly to the point where they need to make a whole new app that does the same thing as the supposed “fix”. Rinse. Repeat.

  • Netflix to end password sharing in early 2023

If they wanted to crack down on password sharing, they should have done it when they were running high during COVID, not three years later when there are half a dozen solid competitors available. This will hasten the exodus of users.

  • iOS 16.2 surfaces relevant Apple News stories in the Weather app

I hope we have a toggle to turn these off. One thing I love about the Weather app is that it's clean and focused on they key weather details. I hate apps like The Weather Channel that have videos and stories in the same view - it's cluttered and I can't help but think "great, more ads!"

  • Tim Cook saw big money in App Store ads, shot down early resistance

When the focus shifts from "let's make the best possible product for the customer" to "let's squeeze out any possible revenue we can from the monopoly we have with the App Store" - you're doing it wrong. "Steve Jobs would have never allowed this" is now a cliche, but....Steve Jobs would have never allowed this.

  • Conflicting rumors battle over Apple Watch Pro band backwards compatibility

I doubt it. I think it's still the same as 45, just a bigger display. The curved glass is what prevents a full display. If you flatten your S7 screen and make the display edge to edge, it's easy to see how you can easily get 47mm display without changing the dimensions.

The current larger Apple Watch is already pretty big on the wrist, if that goes bigger it will be too much for most users, I'd wager. Few people want a hockey puck sized watch on their wrist. I too am much more inclined to believe the screen gets a bit bigger but the overall dimensions stay very similar to the current larger size watch.
