  • HDMI 2.2 arrives with 16K video and 96Gbps bandwidth support

Waiting for the usual tech-nerds to start complaining next week on what's taking Apple so long to implement HDMI2.2 after being available for "the last few years".

Or complaining they can’t watch native 16K full resolution on their iPhone.

  • Apple's 'F1' ad in Wallet won't hurt you, but it might save you $10

Also, I'm fairly certain users can edit posts using the cog in the top right of a post. It might not appear in certain page sizes, so adjust if you need to.
Sorry to be off topic, but the ability to edit posts on my iPhone and iPad using the website disappeared months ago.  That cog is not there anymore (for me).

I didn’t get a notification for this but I see the ad in Wallet. I wouldn’t have noticed except for this article pointing it out and, like you, plan to take advantage of it for this weekend. Happy to see it, easy to dismiss. NBD

  • Preview for iPadOS 26 vs macOS Tahoe: Finally a good native PDF tool on iPad

Why not just write on the screen? The iPad touchscreen is built for this kind of input/interaction.
Well, obviously, but that isn’t always the easiest thing. For instance, we frequently get documents that need multiple signatures but not all the signees are there. For instance, if my wife is at work and I’m at home I can add her signature and return the document instead of waiting for her to get home and sign it herself.

  • Apple execs explain Apple's position in the AI race & how it isn't necessarily 'behind'

Joz even scoffed at the idea of it being "demo ware," in what seemed to be a pointed comment at Daring Fireball's John Gruber.

Sure, now that it’s a year later. We still aren’t seeing the semantic index stuff that was touted at WWDC 2024. What is Joz scoffing at?

  • How to use an old injection trick to turn Apple Writing Tools into a chatbot

    I’ve been trying more stuff.

I asked for a detailed biography of Bob Iger. It processed for a few seconds then gave me about three paragraphs about Bob, but some of it was incorrect. It had his education wrong and his early work history wrong. Then it said he replaced Michael Eisner as CEO of Disney and started getting a bunch of stuff right but also said he was Disney’s first African American CEO. Whoops!

I switched it up and made the questions about landmarks. It gave me a brief description of the Empire State Building, accurate. Then I started asking other questions around simple legal terms like “what is power of attorney?”  Here’s the response for “What does legally binding mean?”

Seems like there might be something to those rumors.
