How to use an old injection trick to turn Apple Writing Tools into a chatbot
I brought my MIL to an appointment and I’m sitting in the parking lot reading this. Across the street there’s a CVS. I copied this prompts, put them into Notes, changed “Uk” to “US” and removed “British”. It gave me Tim Cook as the answer.I tried again and changed the question to “Who is the CEO of CVS Health?” and got an incorrect answer. It said, the CEO of CVS is Rob Watson. As near as I can tell Rob Watson is a Procurement Manager at CVS and David Joyner is the CEO. (BTW, asking Siri “Who is the CEO of CVS Health?” gives the correct answer) -
Crime blotter: Teenaged Apple Store robber agrees to pay security guards
gustav said:ihatescreennames said:tokyojimu said:In the US you are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Until then you are a suspect.noun | a person thought to be guilty of a crime or offense: the police have arrested a suspect.
per-pe tra•tor l noun a person who carries out a harmful, illegal, or immoral act: the perpetrators of this crime must be brought to justice.
In this case, the perpetrator of the crime made a FaceTime call and proved they did it. There is no suspicion here.
”Ultimately, the victim was able to ping the iPad and notify officers of the suspect's location, leading to his arrest, although he did resist it. He was charged with vehicle theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property, burglary and resisting arrest with violence.”
The perpetrator was charged with crimes. He isn’t a suspect. Richard Jewell (who I don’t need to google) WAS a suspect. He ended up not being charged because there was no evidence that he did it. That’s where the word “suspect” makes sense. This is not one of those cases. -
Ex-Apple engineer admits 'expensive mistake' after leak lawsuit is dismissed
Xed said:Does anyone here use or know anyone that uses the Journal app?
I have nothing bad to say about the app — because I've never used it — but it's not app that seems to get any mention in my circles.I’m pretty sure that AI’s Wesley Hilliard said he tries to get 1000 words per day into the Journal app. So there are at least two of us using it! -
AltStore brings first porn app to iPhones in the EU, Apple doesn't 'approve'
AppleInsider said:
Apple draws a clear line in the sand that it would never allow such an app on the App Store. While it is true you'll never find an app for PornHub in the App Store, there are plenty of popular apps filled with explicit, pornographic, or otherwise adult material all over the App Store.
The statement is even more bewildering given that Safari enables easy access to porn from the jump unless specific steps are taken to block the content. If the device is owned by a minor, certain filters are automatically in place, but even those aren't enough.
Also, it isn’t bewildering at all that Apple doesn’t want to carry porn apps in the store that carries Apple’s name and is associated with Apple. I seem to recall some Apple executive even making a comment about how things are accessible in Safari that aren’t in the App Store because Safari allows full access to the internet. Maybe I’m conflating things but that’s what I recall.
