  • Disney+ has officially launched, here's how to sign up for the service

Their servers crashed on first day of launching. What a way to start.
Indicates the pent up demand for their offerings. This service is going to be huge for Disney. Huge. Wish I had bought Disney stock a year ago.

By the way, here’s the App Store link to their app. This was not as easy to find as I would’ve preferred:

  • Facebook app accesses iPhone camera without user's knowledge

So Facebook has been accessing the camera for who knows how long. The bug was that they let this become visible. Well, I never trusted the Facebook app anyway. Never installed it. For what little I use Facebook, (Following a couple of local groups that use it instead of a regular web page, no "friends", no posts, no personal information on my profile,) the web interface is good enough. I did however, just delete the Instagram app. Facebook owns it and so I don't trust it any more either. The web interface will have to do. Posting is a problem, but I understand there is a workaround for that.
As Edward Snowden described it, the NSA accessing your mic or camera is really a trivial matter anyway, so Facebook should be the least of anyone’s concerns.

  • Apple TV+ reportedly attracts 'millions' of users in first week as Apple renews four shows...

I’d definitely recommend a person who buys a new iPhone or iPad to sign up for the free trial period of one year, however the Apple TV app itself is not very good. This is especially true for anyone who likes to download their movies or shows to watch later with no Internet connection. The app absolutely sucks for this use case.

  • Apple contributing $2.5 billion to fight housing shortage in California

OK, Tim has got to go. This is the final straw. This is a blatant misuse of company funds. I think even Steve Jobs would’ve fired him on the spot. Apple is not a piggy bank for Tim (or their board of directors) to apply to any non-Apple vanity cause they want.

This is essentially stealing money from the shareholders in order to support a political agenda.
I think the vast majority of it is loans and leases where Apple is repaid, perhaps even profits. Very little of it is in the form of grants.
According to their press release, $1 billion of the total (which is not the vast majority) is “mortgage assistance”... in other words, Apple is engaging in the same mentality that contributed to the housing market collapse which crashed the economy in 2008
For sure.  Helping people pay mortgages that they can't afford in the first place is no help at all.  As I said in my post, you need to find ways to prevent housing markets from getting out of reach of the average middle-class American in the first place.  A good step in that direction is to prevent property investment (curtail the inflated demand it creates).
There are too many restrictions and regulations on property owners in the State and in the case of San Francisco, it’s not possible to build massive housing complexes on a very limited amount of land in an earthquake zone. The correct response to this is... people and businesses need to move away until the housing market achieves equilibrium. Subsidies will exacerbate the problems.

Yes some people need to be deleted from society.
I don’t believe I posted three times? If so, it must’ve been on the server side. I only posted one response because the headline looked really wrong, then after reading the story more carefully it appeared to be correct, but confusing. So, I deleted my comment.
