Boring is just in your head. Rectangular, round, doesn't matter when you are sitting in front of a monitor all day. Just put in your 8 hours and head home. Eat, sleep, love your family, rinse and repeat.

That 37 Cord would be really expensive today.

Dude.Their cables are fine. Its people that bend that thing out of shape. I have been using them for years. You have to take care of your cables. Or get a 3rd party one that is super thick.

The reason Apple cables are so crappy is because they don't use PVC or phthalates, instead using safer thermoplastic elastomers for environmental responsibility. Of course if they catch a house on fire they are not really safer or environmentally responsible. That said you should inspect your cables often and replace any that have damaged or frayed insulation.

Totally agree. If we had fewer idiots Trump would not be in the White House. But I digress, healthcare should be free. Easily affordable if Trump didn't spend so much of our tax dollars on weekly vacations to Mar-a-Lago.

I have a 2006 Mac Pro which has been completely upgraded. New SSD, new 8 cores, USB3, Black Magic HDMI capture card, new video card, 32 GB RAM, and now running Yosemite with a custom hacked boot file. Normally it would have been stuck on Lion. It could probably run the latest macOS but I haven't tried it, however Yosemite was a very nice version. The only thing that doesn't work quite right is the 30" Cinema Display USB port is hit or miss, but not a problem really since there are USB ports on the front and back of the computer. Overall it works great, but it is not my primary machine. I have a iMac5K along with MBP. Both fairly new.
