  • Eight unreleased AMD Radeon GPUs found in second macOS Catalina beta

I wish Apple would just sort out their issue with nVidia. Not knocking ATI Radeon's here, but it would be nice to have the choice and it's Apple causing the block, not nVidia.
Simply not true. This is Nvidia who don’t allow their processors to be programmed at the “Metal” level. Apple as a computer producer has right to access and control a processor using up to the most granular elements of the processor’s instruction set. As such, Nvidia is a consumer company. It produces some consumer graphics cards, mostly for gaming, mining and alike. It is not an “OEM partner” to Apple like Intel, AMD, or Samsung.

It's not available to me yet. Is this being rolled out at different rates for different countries?
Try to reload the Updates pane, Store menu: Reload Page.

  • Mac Gatekeeper vulnerability allows installation of malware

Use an effective ad blocker and disable "Open safe files after downloading" option in Safari and note that "safe" is written in double quotation marks. Remember that there is no safe file on the Internet.

Ad networks distribute malware by means of several obscure redirections. Even if you don't click anything on the infected page, anything as in not only the ad but nothing on that page, the payload is sent to your computer. The display of the wrapper ad is enough to infect your computer. The payload mostly comes in one of the archive formats such as .zip, .dmg, .pkg, that list being not exhaustive. You may want to check your Downloads folder right now and move all of the said archive files to the Trash, don't even try to open any of them, you can download legitimate installers anytime from the legitimate sources.

Download by redirection may occur on any web page, not only ads. Be careful when binge browsing expecially on questionable sites, watch what your browser does after clicking a link, does the link open a pop-up window or does it redirect to a download before opening the target page? And check your Downloads folder frequently to spot any suspicious download.

  • Editorial: Apple's move to ARM is possible because most users want power more than compati...

“MacARM” is the iPad Pro. There will be no more “Mac” ARM but there will be even more iPad Pro with iPad OS.

iPad OS + iPad Pro combo is a more advanced concept than MacARM. The future is the iPad. Macs will continue to exist but for backwards compatibility and for industrial legacy applications only. And if Intel does well within this limited role, it will always do.

Why people would want to use Chrome is beyond me...Safari is pretty damn good as it is.
Safari works well but many web developers use proprietary google javascript. Many times I have experienced the situation where safari just doesn't work. Often it is regards to important sites such as hospital appointments, international airline reservations, local government registrations etc. No fault directed at safari just that many IT people are programming specifically targeting chrome for JS interactivity. Let me just say I hate JS even though my main job is working with Node JS.
Yes Safari reports a lot of security vulnerabilities where Chrome “works” silently and “interactively”. They can fool the client showing a “working” Chrome page and for Safari not “working” they can put the blame on Apple’s “closed system” but the result is there: millions of zombie computers enslaved by botnets...

If your server side is well built you don’t even need Javascript. I know sites which register transactions without using a single line of JS code.
