Apple can add and will I add if necessary a tariff surcharge in big bold letters to iPhone in September so the whole world can def see it and thank Trump for it.
Sigh. We could only hope you are correct ... and all of the likewise idiots can see the failure to truly understand world economics. In doing so, perhaps manufactures will put "Made in the USA" on ALL products. I personally agree with your requirement - all products made outside of the US should have in BOLD letters - Made in CHINA (or any other Indo Pacific Country) so we know who they are. Not in tiny print somewhere. It should be bold and a law demanding it be at least as large as the largest font on the package.
For the other Liberal idiots who do not understand Macro-Economics, Tariffs are a tax on all goods that enter the country. Each country has them and most are unfair against the US. The average idiot American expects this "bow down and kiss their a$$ attitude" and demand that the price of a product be as close to free as possible - gotta love Temu. Meanwhile, prices of American products are too high for consumers in other countries to purchase because of these imposed taxes for our goods entering their country are so high, their final cost is prohibitive for the average consumer. Farmers, car manufactures, Silicon Vally morons, Energy Suppliers, etc... are all forced then to focus on only the US market - not the WORLD market. Unfair and it MUST be stopped - even if it hurts your poor pitiful pocketbook. If the price temporarily increases in order to bring world trade fairness, suck it up, become a patriot and stop complaining.
More EU cars (Volvo, Mercedes, BMW) are sold in the US than any other place in the world - including the EU .... and that is their own market. Mainly because the US has a higher gross income per capital that can afford those types of cars. But, the secondary issue is that US car manufacturers cannot sell in the EU because the tariff tax on those imports are so high, very very few can afford a US made car. They, instead, purchase an EU made car. Likewise in the Arab states - they have placed a tariff so high on US cars and zero on Japanese cars - most drive Toyotas and not Fords. Good for them ... bad for us. It is unfair and it has to stop.
Trade deficits have to be normalized to as close to zero as possible. No liberal seemed to complain about NAFTA/USMCA - but now you complain that we are expanding that effort worldwide - and forcing other countries to play by making our tariffs the same as what they impose on the US. I don't understand why liberals cannot get on board. You have to love our country more than you hate Donald Trump. Presidents come and go - but your country and your patriotism should be forever.
Now, mind you, this will have (we hope) no affect on bringing manufacturing like Apple back to the US (which hopefully NEVER happens). This is where I break with the current administration. God help us if manufactures return to the US and start making products in this country. Cost will more than double. Unions and American greed will require that American workers be paid at such an exorbitant (usually disguised as "fair living wage") wage and crazy benefits it will in turn cause products made here to increase - rapidly ... it's the reason why most cars are now at the highest they have ever been per average income. Unions have demanded crazy $100,000 salaries for the employees - FOR LIFE, these cost have been passed to the consumer. Amazing how everyone complains about the cost of a truck, but doesnt understand why or fight to get those costs lowered. You idiots complain about the current market environment, while US manufactures rape us. Make it in Mexico or India or China, where labor is cheap. When the tariff are reduced to a lower reciprocal amount, which is where we hopefully end up .... manufacturing should be allowed in any market (thats called Capitalism) where the final price is at a reasonable price point that ALL people can afford.
