Not much added to iPhone this year. I was secretly hoping that they would add some kind of screen privacy tech so that I don't have to put on these privacy screen guard protectors which hamper the screen resolution significantly. 

Why don't they just contract this to Magna? Magna makes cars for almost all top car companies. It's much better than setting up their own manufacturing unit. Hell, even Apple's long term partner Foxconn has entered electric car manufacturing market, so they could look at that too. 

Otherwise we are going to keep hearing about Apple's car ambitions ten years down the line with no clear timeline on the horizon.

Engineers and managers, even upper ones, are constantly changing jobs, looking for greener fields or a more conveniently located employer. Whatever it is Apple is doing the entire car industry already knows. 

If the entire car industry already knows what Apple is doing, then why do you think Ford needed Doug? I am sure he's a super expensive hire for Ford.

That glowing Apple logo seems to indicate that  they are going to announce new Macbooks with mini-LED displays. 

And that transparency in the logo might indicate under glass fingerprint sensor (for mask situations) or maybe even transparent camera or face id module (seems less likely).
