Everything that has been said so far about Apple's 'iPhone SE 2'

Apple says Face ID is coming to more devices, but Touch ID continues
quakerotis said:I would prefer touch id
I was a big fan of Touch ID and concerned about Face ID being less reliable or less convenient but it’s fast and very reliable.
Personally, I can’t ever imagine wanting Touch ID over Face ID but I appreciate some might (security purists, twins, cyborgs, clones etc) -
Study: Apple Pay at 9% adoption in US, lags far behind PayPal and traditional payment meth...
I use Apple Pay on my watch to pay for pretty much everything in the UK. I often go out with no cash and no physical cards as Apple Pay on the Watch is just so easy.
Just occasionally the sales assistant will tell me there is a £30 limit but when I try, it usually works. Very few terminals have a £30 limit for Apple Pay in my experience.
I’m delighted with Apple Pay and on the Watch it couldn’t be easier. I can’t think of any shop, restaurant, pub or venue that doesn’t take it.
Even my teenage kids use Apple Pay instead of cash.
I agree about security too. Magnetic stripes were abandoned here long ago as they’re too easy to clone. Most people still use physical cards though with Chip & PIN. I’ve only once used my iPhone X and found it much less convenient. -
Apple CEO Tim Cook rips into 'absurd' Wall Street Journal report on Jony Ive's departure
@Paxman - I was about to write something similar. I’m full of respect and admiration for everything he’s done. Every time I sit in front of my MacBook I admire its beautiful design - right down to the finest detail. When I use a plastic Lenovo laptop it just feels ugly and horrible like the company and people who made it just didn’t care.
But, design is hard. It’s a fragile creative process. I write software and I’m conscious that the quality and quantity is very dependent on many things: my mood, how much sleep I’ve had, whether I’m worried about anything (family, kids, aging relatives etc). The design that Jony Ive and his team do must be so much harder.
Every year they produce beautifully designed products products but there’s constant pressure to create something very similar but better next time. If Jony Ive stopped after the iPod nobody would have criticised or thought worse of him, yet he went on to do so much more.
Maybe he has burnt out - it’s not for us to judge, but maybe it’s the opposite. Maybe he feels he’s at the peak of his powers and wants to do more in the time he’s got. He wants to create designs to change the world and do more than Apple do. He’s no doubt left a fantastic team behind who are more than capable and his new design company will still work with Apple but he wants to do bigger things outside of Apple. -
2020 5G iPhone coming in 5.4- and 6.7-inch sizes, LTE 6.1-inch iPhone [u]
2020? That’s more than a year behind their competitors.
If I’m paying Apple’s premium prices I expect the best so the 2019 4G model is going to be a difficult sell for Apple.
I look forward to getting a 5G iPhone but I expect 2019 sales to be poor, at least in areas where 5G is available amor about to launch soon (we’ve had it for a few weeks in major curries in the UK).
