  • Florida police attempt to use dead man's finger to unlock his smartphone

There no legal question here. The right to privacy has been clearly established as ending at death.

Of course, the real story is cops shooting yet another black person for fleeing. I'm not sure when it happened, but too many people just accept the use of deadly force against a fleeing suspect for a non-violent crime.
I thought he was shot while attempting to drag a cop out of his car.

upd. After reading some more from a different source....

    http://www.wfla.com/news/pinellas-county/police-largo-officer-shot-killed-suspect-while-being-dragged-by-car/1080587939
Officers tried to detain Phillip, but he jumped into the driver's seat and started to drive away.
Officer Steiner was trapped halfway in the car as Phillip put the vehicle in reverse and accelerated.  The driver's door was open and concrete posts were nearby.
Officer Ables was able to move away from vehicle, but Officer Steiner was dragged.
"As it accelerated backwards, Officer Steiner attempted to defend himself and fired four shots, which all struck the suspect.
Sorry, that is not just "suspect fleeing on foot" type of a situation.
If the guy was running away and a cop shot him in the back, I would have agreed with you, but this clearly not the case here.
The deceased was being stupid, smoked weed in the car, tried to get away from the cops and due to the decisions he made, he is now dead.

That is why Apple has 24 hrs time period build into iOS, after which a pass code needs to be used for unlocking.

Always a great time to buy when analysts make these ridiculous pronouncements.
THAT is why they do that. Institutional investors need to open a position again, I guess. Since the  investor makes a killing when buying low, he pays some schmuck at DigTrendNews to write articles to create FUD. The sheep buy INTO it, the price goes down and the investor just buys.
"Anal"-ists do that for the same reason, except they have their own clients who are investors.

Greenpeace can be a PITA but in this case they have a point. Has anyone here tried to take apart/repair a recent Apple product? Far too difficult and too much use of glue and adhesives instead of removable fasteners. Apple does prioritize making things thinner instead of making them repairable or recyclable.
Disagree. Making something easy to repair does not make it easier to recycle!
Also, Apple has robots that do the recycling, so I am pretty sure they have covered that part already, unless you wanna recycle the device yourself, which you can't really do since you will be unable to reuse those materials anyway, which kinda is the whole point of recycling!

In order to make things thinner Apple do things like gluing components together. Would it be possible (or even interesting to Apple's designers) to design a new set of fasteners/adhesives that enable things to come apart easily without adding additional thickness?
Isn't it counter to the idea of glueing things together to provide contact and rigidity with minimal amount of material used?
That is why the best driving and handling cars use ADHESIVES, instead of just welding or fasteners that connect different parts of the chassis together into more or less rigid structure..
