  • Fanhouse rolls out 50% surcharge on in-app purchases, to offset 30% App Store fees

I'm certain, Congress has no idea how businesses make money.

Every business along the supply chain takes a cut. Every business prices their product and service by how much their costs are, including the cuts their suppliers take, plus a take for their profit.

The problem with most suppliers is they give preferences to their biggest customers. For many companies the biggest customers often require a business to expend costs to support that bigger customer, which translates into the customer actually controlling the business -- the customer threatens to bail out leaving the business with capital costs they cannot pay off.

Apple seems to do that also. But it seems to a lesser extent. A 0%, 15%, 30% charge for everyone seems quite reasonable and equitably applied. Equitably applied means a company using Apple's services is not disadvantaged over their competitors.

The attacks on Apple's App services are nonsense from every angle.

  • Intel to build $20 billion chip factory in Ohio

    3000 jobs?

Number of questions? How long will it take to build this factory? What jobs will this factory require? What are the skills required to fill those jobs? How many people in that area already have the skills required and how many more is needed, if any? Of these 3000 jobs, how many of those jobs are in building the facility and infrastructure, and how many will be used in factory once up and running?

  • 5G expansion will cause 'catastrophic' economic crisis, airlines claim

Why are the airlines arguing "could" and Verizon and AT&T arguing "will not"?

This is "simple" physics, maybe engineering. The answer is clear -- perform the experiments.

It's not a matter for the courts, FAA, or FCC. It's not a matter of policy or subject to argument -- just a matter of exact science.

Given the price of glasses these days, it wouldn't take long for the Apple Glass to pay for itself.
