Dual-camera patent at core of lawsuit against Apple must be reconsidered
35 US Code 10 Section 103 says
"A patent for a claimed invention may not be obtained, notwithstanding that the claimed invention is not identically disclosed as set forth in section 102, if the differences between the claimed invention and the prior art are such that the claimed invention as a whole would have been obvious before the effective filing date of the claimed invention to a person having ordinary skill in the art to which the claimed invention pertains. Patentability shall not be negated by the manner in which the invention was made."
So, obviousness is not the same as the common usage of the term. The evidence for obviousness must be determined based on "experts" in the field. -

Proposed antitrust bills would ban Apple from preinstalling its own iOS apps
Owners will now need to be system integrators. Sure, that's going to happen.
Do even the Apple competitors want what is included in these bills? Certainly not most of the competitors.
The politicians have and courts have no clue about economics and anti-trust. An economy of mom-and-pop companies is not an economy that can sustain itself -- not in a global economy. -
Creepy data hoarders at Facebook working on Android-powered wearable camera to track your ...
For Facebook to change course and not hand over as much information as it can about their customers would be an admission of guilt. This they would never do.
So it makes perfect sense for Facebook to openly push further into selling their customers' personal information -- an in-your-face challenge to those wanting to stop such actions.
Facebook is saying "I double dare you -- you're going to have to fight me." Don't expect a peaceful resolution.

Apple channels Disney's 'The Little Mermaid' to sell iPad-based freedom
AppleZulu said:larryjw said:Beats said:Those webcams on top of the monitors are such a Windows thing.
People think Apple is holding back features on iPadOS because they don’t wanna canibalize Mac sales but this ad and the slogan disprove that.
Given iPad’s huge sales and high customer satisfaction, there’s a consumer-demand-driven market for just exactly what it is, and as the ad above suggests, for many, it’s all some people will need or want. That then leaves room for MacBooks and Macs to serve their a different tier and use case. It overlaps iPad, and with the announcement of even more fluid interconnectivity in the next OS updates, this means Apple is pushing further into maintaining and advancing each product line, not merging them into one device.
