  • Apple Vision Pro could help surgeons see vital data during operations

This place is cringe when bulls*t articles like this appear. This tech already exists, has existed for years, and is in use in countless hospitals around the globe.
    Apple didn't invent anything new.
I'm sure Apple has many patents of the Vision Pro. That means they DID invent something new according to the patent office.

  • Apple Vision Pro could help surgeons see vital data during operations

I know neurosurgeons who perform robotic surgery. One of them is my doctor. Quite complex. The equipment they use contain cameras that peer into the brain, eye pieces that enlarge the camera images, robotic arms that hold and manipulate the scalpels, foot pedals and a mouth pieces controlling different aspects of the robotic assembly.

I had no idea until my doctor and other of his colleagues gave lectures with surgical videos to a broad audience of patients and families of patients.

Can the Vision Pro support such activities? I'll let the medical technologists make that decision. It's certainly not beyond the possibility.

  • Apple executives discuss the process behind the 15-inch MacBook Air's development

In general, Bergeron expresses that the development of the new MacBook Air presented a significant engineering challenge, more than what many people might realize. However, she emphasizes that Apple doesn't want customers to focus on those technical details.
"We don't even want people to consider that," she said. "We want to do everything that we can to make this experience great."

LOL LOL LOL   Every time Apple does some relatively little thing, we have to read about what it big deal it was.  Yeah, there were so many amazing challenges we had to overcome to make the screen 2 inches bigger.  It took a whole re-imagining of what 15 inches is.  All the engineering and other struggles.  The late nights.  The channeling Steve Jobs.  The ordering of bigger screens and consequent adjustments to a computer case.  I can't even imagine.  It's like sending people to Mars or building the pyramids.  We can't even comprehend how Apple's highly skilled and paid engineers were able to rise this challenge of doing a thing that Apple has done for years.  It's not just 2 inches, it's slightly more than 5cm, and that required careful study of the metric system.  .  We don't even want people to consider all this mundane work we are bragging about, just enjoy.

You ask the engineering and product development team about the complexities of development, they'll tell you. Why would you have problem with that? Expertise goes unnoticed, often. That's why so many people are under the illusion of their own superiority.

  • Apple Vision Pro vs Meta Quest heatsets - how the approaches compare

Apple vs Meta - Meatspace management

What in blazes is “meatspace management”?  Is this some sort of anti-vegan community management tool?
I heard the term "meatspace" several years ago and it refers to meeting in person vs remotely -- real bodies in the same location. Like the difference between "hardware" (computers) and "wetwear" (brains) or say "game fest" gatherings with guys and gals vs "sausage fest" which is only guys.

  • Why Apple Vision Pro has a chance at being the future of work

Of course Apple geared the Vision Pro announcement to productivity. The $3500 price tag is a no brainer for a corporation’s top brass.

The key for the products success though is getting it into the hands of developers.
