Apple nears 'Apple Car' deal with Kia, first model might be fully autonomous enterprise ve...
One statement from this article made me question is entire premise — that the car will be fully autonomous, not designed to have a driver.
No chance in hell any government agency, Fed or State, would allow that. And, no proof whatsoever that autonomous vehicles can and will work in the various circumstances vehicles will find themselves in.Okay, we’ve got some autonomous vehicles on our campus which traipse along campus delivering food to hungry dorm residents topping out at speeds of 3mph.I have my doubts Apple wants to compete in this arena. -
Kuo: 'Apple Car' to use Hyundai's E-GMP platform, GM and PSA partnerships possible
Hyundai says they will be making 23 different vehicles using the E-GMP base. Certainly makes sense that a Kai for Apple Car might be one of those.
As for a premium price, that might be true, but a high price for a form factor. If we look at Apple's computer products, they are premium priced but with a wide range of prices. So, being premium will not necessarily mean unaffordable. It will depend on what form factor you want or need.
